The moral of the story explored in eyes wide shut story is painfully obvious - live a life of non attachment and spiritual enlightenment (heart chakra and above), or go down the rabbit hole of human degeneracy, including sex, drugs, prostitution, power, etc (lower three chakras).

It becomes obvious when Tom Cruise's character reconsiders cheating on his wife with the prostitute, even after getting blackpilled, and it is then found out that she had aids, which if he had 'taken that path' would have very well caught, if not from her, from another..

An easy way to avoid problems in life is by not taking part in any of it and living a 'good and virtuous life'.. you can never catch the clap or have accidental babies that way.

I agree and that was the theme of the original story.

I like how he loved his wife tremendously and she gets drunk then started talking about sex fantasies she has about other guys.

I always avoid getting intoxicated and don't let loved ones. If you do, you open the door for saying and hearing things you don't want to hear.

The movie is about looking in places for things you do not want to know about.
