Walking Dead, although it wasn't a ragequit as much as it was just getting busy and slipping off the radar. GOT was a similar thing and I was almost at the end.

I've been watching Manifest, but honestly I'm ambivalent about it. I don't know if I'll keep watching.

I don't know how far you've got, but all four season AND the movie at the end are worth watching IMO. Season 4 doesn't actually involve any kind of prison break, but you do still have the OG crew Michael, Linc, Sucre, T-Bag, with Bellick and Mahone in tow.

Reading all these responses, it sad that so many modern shows drop off. It's odd how few of the shows mentioned are pre-2005.

Season 2 didn't really involve a prison break either, since they were on the run. Season 2 is my fav btw, Season 3 sucked a bit of donkey dick and is my least fav, and Season 4 was more like a break in to a corporate mega fortress rather than a prison break.

Season 5 got a bit shat on, but I thought the cat and mouse between Michael and Poseidon was awesome. Always cool to see Michael outsmart everyone with one of his devious plans.

IMO, worth watching all the way through but beware, third season is a bit chit.
Back off, Warchild.

Under the Dome - The premise is great and the first season was decent, but it went off the rails fast.

Doom Patrol - Gave up halfway through the first episode. I never read the comic, but I imagine that fans of the comic would have hated the show.

The Wire - stopped watching after season 2. Didn't dislike the show, just didn't feel like committing to any more seasons as not really that into that particular style of drama.

Gomorrah - Stopped watching after 2 seasons I believe. I dunno...just felt like the show was somewhat going round in circle and the show was losing it's initial punch.

Better Call Saul - I haven't given up so much as giving it a break. I have heard from numerous sources that it really picks up in season 3 onwards. Nothing at all against the show...I just wanted to watch other stuff MORE after two seasons of what was primarily a legal drama.

The Walking Dead - started off amazing and was fairly strong up until season 7 or so, but I was tired of sitting through episode after episode where hardly anything happened and the seasons were basically 3x longer than they needed to be.

Watching the pilot episode and not going any further doesn't count (I watched the pilot of Euphoria out of interest, with no plans to continue). You need to have watched 4+ episodes or half a season.
You should've pushed through on the Wire. Just fast forward the chit storylines.

Started watching it then after about 30 minutes stopped there.

Was gonna watch it later but forgot all about it.

It's been five months since then.

damn you gave up on both the Wire AND Better Call Saul huh, those are easily two of the best shows ever made

I actually liked the first 2-3 seasons of BCS most, the writing and attention to detail in those is insane, after that it picks up the pace and becomes more of the good ol cartel story

season 2 of the wire feels a bit stand-alone from the others, but if you give it 2-3 episodes guaranteed you'll get sucked in because it's just such a quality show, again the detail in the writing and the depth of the dialogue that makes the characters come alive is very rare to come across

The Walking Dead I used to watch way back in season 1, but by the time the 2nd season came around I realized it was just a drama show with zombies as the decor and it wasn't gonna get any better so I quit that a couple episodes in

same with Games of Thrones somewhere in season 2, it was nowhere near the quality of season 1 imo, which is crazy with how much hype that show got afterwards. felt like they needed to prove their show to HBO with the 1st season so they went all out, and then once they got approved for a couple more seasons they just smeared the story out instead of keeping the tight pace they had in the 1st.

Yellowstone is another good mention ITT, crazy high production value but it's just some basic unrealistic drama show with Yellowstone as the setting, no idea how they managed to screw that up because the premise was great

Most shows are pure trash anyway.

If lucky you get 1 or 2 good seasons, then it always deteriorates.

An ex of mine was legit obsessed with watching TV. Couldn't even begin to tell ya how many shows I tried watching with her that I gave up on after a few episodes or so.

Big Bang Theory
Breaking Bad
Prison Break
New Girl
Game of Thrones
Supernatural

all those ghost hunter shows and HGTV house remodeling/building/selling shows.

Last Man Standing:got rid of the main actress playing the older daughter for a new actress and turned her into a raging feminist

I haven't read the books, but my overriding feeling is that they don't translate well to TV. You have to respect the medium you're developing for and be honest about whether or not what you're trying to do suits it. The one thing they wrote specifically for the TV show that wasn't in the books, i.e. the genetic dynasty, is the ONLY decent part of the show. That tells you something.

Another thing was Salvor Hardin's character. As soon as she was introduced my gut was like "there's something very off about this character", so I investigated it and discovered in the book the character is a bloke. Suddenly everything made sense.

Plus the casting is chite outside of Lee Pace and Jarred Harris.

On a side note, for those who wanna watch some quality programming, Severence and Ted Lasso are fukin' great.

Apparently, I'm the only person who hated Walking Dead. Got forced to sit through countless episodes of that show with an ex. I was completely bored within 15 minutes of the first episode I saw. Couldn't hold my attention at all.

Yeah let's run away from zombies for like a decade (or however the long the show ran). So entertaining.

If you've ever been with a woman who likes typical woman things like obsessing over shiiity TV shows, then you'd know that part of that deal is being stuck watching a good amount of that bs with her to keep her happy. Call it cucked all you want, but it's a fact.

Walking Dead lost me years ago. Loved Negan but it felt like the show completely fell off a cliff in quality once he came around. not the character/actor's fault.

Call Saul - I can't get into prequels. I tried. I know how the story ends. I really liked El Camino but that's because it's new/continuing the story. Not looking back. I can't watch an entire 5-6 season show based around looking for BB references.

WestWorld - damn. season one is incredible. I feel like they got their head up their own ass after that. Now it's so convoluted. I'm out.

Survivor - I watched Survivor for like 20 years. I'm not one of those 'go woke go broke' people to the extreme but they went too far into that realm for me a couple seasons ago. Maybe I just needed a break but they went hard left on a few things. Like having Jeff Probst acknowledge that he should stop saying one of his catch phrases "c'mon in guys" because "guys" might offend the ladies. Are you serious?

Have been a loyal Survivor fan since the beginning, and this was the breaking point for me. During the same "woke" season they voted out two black people two weeks in a row and someone threw out the race card as if it was intentional. And of course a black girl won who didn't deserve it.

What floored me is on another CBS show literally the season before - Big Brother - six black contestants got together and intentionally voted out all the white people. Complete hypocracy and double standards.

lol yes that was the same season! i was so out after that.

it sucks because a year or so prior to that, there was the Dan Spilo incident which was must-see TV. then the pandemic and the wokeness made CBS lose their heads.

The Boys after S2 I think but it was a struggle
Yellowstone after S3
Peaky Blinders after S3 i think
Westworld S1

Gonna get some hate for these ones but I tried watching The Wire and Sopranos and I just don't like the old era acting and "scenery / 240p quality" IDK how to describe it, but it just doesn't reel me in like some kind of modern day show that are more "intense"

The Flash - stopped at S4
Peaky Blinders - stopped at S3
Moon Knight - stopped at episode 6
Westworld - stopped at season 2

The Expanse - stopped at season 2. Season 1 was good but by the time you reach season 2 you have no fooking idea what's going on.

All of them were 10/10 shows, until they weren't.
