You dont even realize how huge those mountains are until you're up "in" them and "close" to them yet they still seem like they go on forever. It's crazy. Every time I travel somewhere else it reminds me how lucky we are to live here and close to places like what you posted.

I then talked to a woman at the gym, this is long ago, who would do the same. She hurt her ankle while in the woods alone and had to crawl through the woods to get back to her car. This is before cellphones were common.
I stopped after that story.
