Can a liberal tell me how DA Braggs decision to indict him for this prevents him to become president? Srs. I’m sure that’s the only reason why he’d indict him for this petty crime but what is Braggs rationale? How does this prevent him from becoming president? He’d have to know if this fails to keep him in jail for next 2 years or disqualify him, it’ll backfire and actually secure his presidency? I could see how Mueller investigation and all the other hoax investigations could have disqualify him but I just don’t see how they are thinking this is a good bet and won’t backfire?

Someone about hundred years ago ran for President from jail (and Trump won't be doing time for this alleged crime, even if he's convicted). So people can run for President even with a conviction. Moreover, any trial relating to this indictment won't occur until after the 2024 election because the courts move slow in NYC

The indictment's only effect would be on Trump's favorability ratings; it might give his enemies an attack during campaigns as well. But legally, it won't bar him from running

What you are missing is that the ***normal R's*** in everyday life have moved on from Trump and are ready for fresh new blood.
They have told us this over the last 4 months if you are paying attention and ask about him.
So with this being #1 of possibly a few legal issues, he won't have the rebound or bounce back like he once had when his popularity was super high.
Many normal R's say they are tired of his antics.

Where are you getting the bolded from? The last poll has Trump dominating the Rep primary, leading the runner-up by 30% (a 15% increase from the prior poll done by this pollster). His numbers have been rising since the indictment talk began

Interviews with R's, talking to real people, occasionally TV, post election tv interviews with folks.
If they were as enthusiastic as the R's on this site....... then it would still be obvious to all of us in real life with flags, t shirts, bumper stickers, red hats, and discussion.
