That only works if the parents love the kid, which is not always the case as the kid may be an object of hate by one or more of the parents.

The only idea that would work is a new society where something like Islam locks males and females into place. But, that's not real and the only alternative is just to keep letting abandoned children keep mounting until there's a social meltdown morals change.
Partial help could come from banning second marriages. It stops some of the bleeding of families aiming away from each other too strongly.

As far as religion, I like the way the Jesuits discuss things. They more or less observe relationship wisdom inspired by Jesus without trying to explain literal aspects of divine besides the dynamics of faith we can observe with our available intuitions and things this accessible. It adds up surprisingly well because of the common sense constrained by socially placing things with Jesus.

I honestly don't either...in fact, no one does. I have respect and actually study religion...it's just not for me. I just don't understand why people get so smug and upset if someone else believes or not...personally, I just think they're insecure in their own beliefs. But I feel the same...in that the reward is now. I don't believe in the afterlife so I'm going to do what I can to enjoy this one chance I have

This is not a scientific term, but I get the idea.

I would say instead of religion, it's actually money. Something that fake motivates everyone, controls the course of your life, the life of nations, starts and ends wars...

Definitely, it's money.

Your comment is psychotic because I GUARANTEE that you never studied Marxism so you have no idea what you are talking about.

Maxism is about people going back to tribal society where people work together but with modern technology.

In the past, people did not demand wages to go hunting to get food for the tribe. Instead, they volunteered to do that and everything else and Marx predicted that would happen again because that's normal for the human race.

That's practical and makes sense.

This has to be one of the most retarded posts I’ve ever read.

If loads of people came on here claiming Santa and the Easter bunny were real (and truly believed it), you damn well would be on here arguing against them.

The god of the bible clearly isn’t real. Is there some other form of higher power? Who knows!

Religion is typically tied so irreversibly deep into a persons psyche/identity that it is pointless arguing about it in an effort to try to convince them otherwise

Personally I’d sit there, like I do now with religious people, and scratch my head wondering how can they believe what they do. Their arguments just dont make sense and no evidence is ever provided.

As you can no doubt tell, I don’t believe in god. However, if I was presented with some tangible evidence I would change my views. I have a similar stance with aliens and ghosts. Show me some evidence and I will believe.

My parents gave me my moral compass (and their parents gave them theirs etc.). Whether I choose to ignore my moral compass has nothing to do with god.

The mom thing, that's not accurate here. Is that what you did?
About thousand years ago people in Europe didn't always have Kings but rather they got together and had group meetings about what to do.

Regarding religion, who do you think made it up, it's not god, that's fictional. Religions are made up by people who think they have the best answer to living life.

So, "god" didn't say, "Don't steal" but rather humans said it because they observed all the conflicts that result from people stealing.

So maybe an ancient TheAdlerian wrote the Bible, but stupid people will say what you said which is "Why should we listen to him?" so TheAdlerian denied he wrote it and instead said god wrote it. So, after that, you will sorta kinda maybe read some of the Bible, when you get to it.

That's absurd.

Instead, humans are better off doing what Nordic people did and discuss issues and see what they think is sensible.

I thought you meant what could be done in the real world to stop family issues.

You can't ban second marriages because there's no legal basis for that. In addition, many people, such as myself, do not believe in marriage and so you can't stop multiple relationships and you can't stop people from having kids.

I live in a city of a million people and I literally don't know that many married people, but plenty of people have kids by many different partners. So, the cat is out of the bag regarding people not caring about marriage and you will not get that cat back in it easily.

Believing in religion is stupid, to the point where it's astounding.

You KNOW THIS but you are brainwashed by family, jews, etc to pretend you don't.

You KNOW that this is not a real being who is in some other plane of existence waiting to help you out, right?

He has a cool story but you know it's stupid, correct.

It's the same religion. The whole messiah idea is jewish.

There have been tens of thousands of fake messiahs over the years. The Romans just picked one and ran with it. Rome copied the Noseberg grift game and expanded upon it. Now the pope gets to chit on a solid gold toilet thanks to you sheeple.

To the point and funny.

I can't believe that people actually believe all of this jewish nonsense and it just keeps going.

I've studied Marxism extensively, and can tell by your comment that you have no idea what Karl Marx actually said. He never advocated for any return to tribalism. He did desire an abolished state that could potentially lead to smaller communities but that's unsustainable in modern times as trade would either never happen or it would cause a return to dominant centralized powers. Utopian ideals have never worked because they deny human nature

You have no clue what you're talking about.

Marx didn't advocate for anything. His work was a sociological prediction of what would eventually happen as a result of the Industrial Revolution.

Have you read Das Kapital? The Communist Manifesto? Any thing Marx wrote? I have. I also have actual degrees in Economics unlike your made up psychology degree.... You were describing a Utopia which Marx criticized his socialist contemporaries on conceptualizing. That is how i know you don't actually know anything about Marx

JFL @ OP finding high school level philosophy as a grown man.

Most people legit go through this phase at 15-18 when they find the likes of Dawkins and Hitchens and think they have it all figured out. That's why most college kids are pretentious as fuk. You're supposed to come out of this way of thinking and cringe at your past self by early to mid 20s. OP is flaunting his idiocy as a fully grown man.

Or are we all toastin? The fact that OP has a 2006 join date and hasn't posted since the first page is sus.

The replacing of religion with the enshrinement of the self and worship of the self has been an absolute disaster for the west at every level from the individual to society as a whole.

Belief in God makes me kind, brave and hopeful. All three of which are sorely missing in our world today.

I'll add that by that time the majority of that culture had converted to Roman Catholicism
You have created a "strawman argument" by switching the topic.

Switching the form of government a culture had doesn't mean they didn't have a previous collaborative government.

When jews invaded Europe that's when things changed culturally. Later, during the Enlightenment, Europeans tried to change it back to being collaborative.

You are a person who cannot admit they are wrong and then say your studied all of these topics and yet can't demonstrate any knowledge about them, lol.

You are talking about yourself.

You write like an idiot, are some idiot's alt, and are an uneducated person.

A big complaint about me here is that I write too much with too much detail.

Check out my Ask TheAdlerian thread for further details lol.

I apologize for being brash, but the religion topic truly astounds me.

As I've said, I believe people cling to religious stories, which ARE STUPID, they are literally absurd and stupid stories, because their families told them the stories. Religion is like child abuse, you learn it from "dad" and so you can't admit he's crazy and stupid, so you abuse your kids too.

That has to be the explanation.

I posted the Indian god Ganesha before and you didn't respond. Do you for one second think that an guy with an elephant head is a real supernatural being?

If you do not then how do people believe in him?

Once that question is answered then what is the suggestion for people who believe in Ganesha to get practical knowledge about life vs wishing for him to help them?
