It's an amendment to this legislation:https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=26.28.015

Which already included notification exceptions:

"(c) "Compelling reasons" include, but are not limited to, circumstances that indicate that notifying the parent or legal guardian will subject the minor to abuse or neglect as defined in RCW 26.44.020."

It doesn't change age of consent or access to care, it exempts the shelter from the obligation to notify within 72 hours.

So the bolded part about healthcare services just really means a roof over their head?

So the bold part regarding healthcare services that specifically reference ginoplasty's is actually just shelter?

This Bill doesn't provide for health services or affect age of consent for those services.

Yes, it does. What parts of the bill I posted that references health care dont make sense to you? Just do a ctrl+f and search healthcare. Or look at the 3-4 posts I made copying the text.

You quoted an example of a service considered gender affirming. You didn't provide a link and the text does not appear in the pdf of the Bill I posted, nor the accepted amendments.

Protected health services were created in separate legislation, not in this Bill.

Like I said, if someone takes issue with age of consent, this isn't the Bill to oppose.

Is there an epidemic of parents throwing their trans children onto the streets that we don't know about? If so, please cite your sources. The wording of the bill you posted doesn't even try to cite anything relating to trans homelessness.

I dunno if running away is the same as being thrown out. But, if no youth are on the street and/or seeking shelter, this Bill won't affect anyone, right?

This is correct. However, when you now couple both of these bills together it is exactly what the OP is describing.

Are you ok with children being able to get these "protected health services" ie hormone blockers/surgery without a parents consent and without a parents knowledge all while giving them a safe harbor? Thus making it EASIER for children to make life altering decisions at a young age.
What are you on about mate?

Instead of being so eager to take mentally unstable children and transform them into something they're not, how about we get them mental health care??

Katie Daviscourt, a journalist in Washington, posted about the bill as well, saying “Last night, Washington state passed SB 5599 which allows the state to legally take children away from their parents if they don’t consent to their child’s gender transition surgeries. All Democrats voted, yes. All Republicans voted, no.”

Washington State Senator Marko Liias announced on Twitter that his state’s senatepassed SB 5599, a bill that would give the state government the power to take children away from their parents if the parents do not consent to the child’s gender transition surgery,in early March. At that point, the bill was headed to the House. It just passed the House and is now headed back to the Senate for consideration of the changes made.

Liias, the sponsor of the bill, cheering the bill’s passage, said, “Tonight, we passed #SB5599 to ensure at-risk youth have access to shelter when seeking gender-affirming or reproductive care. Trans youth have been under a nationwide attack, but #WALeg continues to fight for trans rights.”

That legislation already existed. This Bill amends the existing legislation by adding an additional exception to the obligation to report within 72 hours.

Ok.. granted I haven't read the whole thread yet, but can you explain the discrepancy? I mean the very own SPONSOR OF THE FUKING BILL said in plain English that...

"Washington State Senator Marko Liias announced on Twitter that his state’s senate passed SB 5599, a bill that would give the state government the power to take children away from their parents if the parents do not consent to the child’s gender transition surgery, in early March. All the kid has to do is run away from home because they feel confused about their gender and that's the end of the parent's rights to the child. Now the state controls them and they can/will/do push whatever "gender affirming care" they want on the kid.
