^^ Hamilton's fear playing out

"Federalist No. 84 are notable for their opposition to what later became the United States Bill of Rights. The idea of adding a Bill of Rights to the Constitution was originally controversial because the Constitution, as written, did not specifically enumerate or protect the rights of the people, rather it listed the powers of the government and left all that remained to the states and the people. Alexander Hamilton, the author of Federalist No. 84, feared that such an enumeration, once written down explicitly, would later be interpreted as a list of the only rights that people had."

99% of Americans at that time never owned slaves. Only the ELITE moggerz could afford to buy people for labor.

Why don't they ever test and release the findings of what prescribed drugs they were using? There's zero chance they did it out of boredom.

What else do they have in common, same shrink?

I love the second amendment argument. Nothing like thinking a 250 year old document has any relevancy today.

Since you prefer city life you really might like Boston. It seems to be the best remaining big city in the US. Almost as expensive as NYC though.

The above would make a difference eventually

The type of gun doesn't matter that much in most cases... it's just the easy access to any type of gun
I'm okay with increasing the purchase age to 25for individuals not professionally trained by the military, law enforcement, or licensed private program. And I'm okay with requiring registration, though I know that isn't popular with many pro- 2A types. You have to register your car.

IDK how it would fly re: privacy, but a system whereby ANYONE taking an SSRI or anti-psychotic medication is reported in to a main data base *might* be worth the loss of overall privacy IF it were kept accurately and not open to abuse. On the one side I hate the thought of Big Brother, and then on the other I can see the value of law enforcement having knowledge of civilians medical issues if said issues would effect any interaction...so if you are deaf, autistic, suffering from dementia, or mentally ill and law enforcement is aware of that by checking your license/ID it could save some civilians from being needlessly killed due to a failure of communication.

Maybe the answer IS mandatory service. I mean it could even be state militia service as having a militia to stand up against the federal government was sort of the point, yeah?

Imagine if every state had a population of citizens trained in the use of firearms and basic military tactics?

So when the WEF controlled govt comes to seize your gas stove/furnace, noone should be able to shoot and kill their thugs in self defense right?

Only idiots think we "need" guns. Never in my life have I had the desire to own one.

Best we can do is compromise and ban all assault rifles. Pistols would still be ok to own

What does an assault rifle do that a pistol can’t? You realize handguns kill more than rifles?

What are you even talking about

More people get beat to death [no weapon] than killed by rifles.

85 percent of firearm homicides are committed with handguns, not AR15’s. Stop watching the idiot box.

We do not need semi-auto rifles to be honest. Raise the prices, raise the age limit, make it more difficult to attain. And beef up security nationwide. Honestly if businesses cannot afford the cost of security measures at this point then they shouldn’t be in business. If we aren’t going to do anything about gun laws then a serious change in business law needs to be made where armed security is almost a necessity.

It’s astonishing that this keeps happening in our country and nothing is being done
Stop. You’re thinking like a woman, using emotion instead of logic. 100 people were killed with AR-15’s last year; meanwhile 15,000 died after falling down stairs. Hope you live in a ranch house and don’t have a basement.

******** brought in over our open border will take out another 100,000 people this year, and no one will bat an eye at that either. In fact they’ll make sure to vote for leftist morons who will ensure that it continues to happen.

Your outrage is misplaced.

Pure ignorance. With hundreds of millions of legal guns around, millions of illegal guns, and a criminal war zone right across the southern border, it's beyond stupid to think that guns could just be banned. They are way too numerous. Any ban on legal ownership would just empower criminals. Mass killing won't be stoped by gun laws. Besides, if you know there are violent armed psychopaths around, why wouldn't you want to make it a level playing field?

Asides from that, guns play a huge part in self-reliance and the day to day life and security of millions living in rural areas, were there is hardly any police presence at all. Not to mention that hunting feeds a lot of people.
