I'm not down with that. I am down with providing as much support as humanly possible in Ukraine without boots on the ground. They seem to be doing pretty good so far and both sides will most likely come to the table to talk before the end of the year. Ive heard some talk of taking back Crimea, my wife included, that is a pipe dream currently. But holding onto parts of Donbas? Absolutely possible.

He is doing everything in his power for his Country. Obviously Countrys aren't and don't have to answer with everything he is asking for. Letting Russia make a power play like this is literally against EVERYTHING we are for, and we have a capable military that is wanting and willing to soak up everything taught to them. We can have a powerhouse ally in Europe that will foot the bill for any tensions we ever have with Russia. To let them do what they want is the absolute worst decision possible.

The crux of the conversation was Metroins saying that Ukraine must be defended by the US at all costs. I asked him does this mean he would sacrifice the lives of his children if push came to shove and the US and Russia ended up in a nuclear war over Ukraine. A purely hypothetical question to judge how much kool aid he was drinking in defense of Ukraine.
