Wincel knows his way around physics and math (i studied physics at an undegrad level, wincel cant just 'google' the knowledge he has in physics, he demonstrates a legitimate understanding that would be very hard to fake) credit where credits due. I'm not sure he's actually a 'brilliant academic' though (unsure on his credentials, but given he's a NEET he's hardly in a research post, with a PhD and postgrad changing the world of physics is he? Being a NEET would imply a lack of credentials to find a decent job..). So it seems likely that he simply has an undergrad, not really grounds for a claim of 'academic brilliance'.

Absolutely not an expert on history, or wars, or economics, and has never displayed any aptitude for these fields (especially history and wars), the curious question is why you think he's an expert in all these fields OP?

Also, academia is becoming a leftist echo chamber, however there are many brilliant academics who are not communists, or brilliant people who leave academia and are not communist. Not only that, there's countless examples in history of great, educated men who are definitely not communist.

However, there's also the complete opposite effect as well, people have turned politics into a game of 'us vs them', and group identity that the actual issues are overlooked. Many self identified 'right wingers' can't even have a discussion about communism, or marxes ideas and the merit they have without getting bent out of shape at the mere mention of communism.
