Sharks don't attack immediately. His best chance would've been to swim TOWARD the sharke to grab the buoy, then pulled himself up the cable it's attached to.
Worst case that small shark bits into his leg, but it will let go if it's out the water long enough

Yeah I was talking to my girl about how they always gas up dead people in stuff like this, it’s always “oh they just lit up a room” even if the person had all the markers of being a retarded ass hole waste of life.

Are sharks that hungry they eat the first sign of another animal?

I figured there are fish around all the time, and they only feed once every other day or so.

Depends what sort. A bull will bite you just to give you a what for - sort of like how a dog would bat a mouse around for fun. A nurse or something passive, not so much.

Can't tell what sort that was, you can only really make out the nose and perhaps the length, and hes not small. It looks small initially but if you go back and look at the wake, you can see hes slithered up a bit, and prolly better than 10ft.

EDIT: prolly a blacktip but who nose

The movement at 3 sec is a girl throwing her drink over the side, wind it back and forward, you can clearly see it...they're not saying shark, they're saying '****'.

I want to believe, but it ain't no shark.

In the wake of the tragedy, University Lab School Director Kevin George described the former baseball star as a “great kid.”

“He’s an athlete … great smile, great head of hair,” he told WBRZ.
great head of hair? kid just died and likely was eaten by a shark and his former teachers are commenting on his hairline? which miscer was this (srs)

Why would he immiediately swim directly to the buoy.

He yeeted out there. Then prolly came up for air immediately to check his reps.

I dont think he would realize his mistake for another 10-20 seconds.

Reads like it was a booze cruise for 18 year olds who can't hold their liquor. Thats why it was in the Bahamas - you can drink there at 18.

Boyo was prolly ****faced.

If I was there I'd feel none. Why is it my place to tell someone to not do something stupid? Should I hunt down and confront every one of those parkour ph@gs and tell them they're on borrowed time too? I'm not the one to try to play god.

A shark attack would've been quick enough to spare him the mental and physical torture of dying slowly, alone in the pitch black Ocean.

Probably didn't feel a thing due to the adrenaline.

Imagine if the ocean was completely transparent all the way to the bottom, and the ocean floor could light up like the sun. Imagine all the disgusting silhouettes of hundreds of thousands of sea creatures swimming around down there.
Jfl @ people who swim in the ocean. There's a reason we've only discovered 5% of it, because hardly anyone wants to bother

NPC personality, no inner conscious speaking to him; teens do retarded things(myself included) but it never occurred to me to jump off a perfectly good ship
Lmao at needing to be taught not to fking jump off a ship.

This is an inherently male problem. Males get retarded when they’re with their friends. Young men are more likely to die in a car crash if their friends are in the car rather than driving alone. Gee I wonder why.

Imagine the suffering of that guys' last moments. Seeing the ship fade away into the darkness and then having total black and silence around you while you realize you are going to slowly freeze or drown and are just waiting for whichever happens first. Terrifying.

Had same thought. The dude was def trying to jestermaxx.

Best case scenario: the dude survives and the sloots give him some attention for 30 seconds and then go and bang chad and tyrone.

I was in the USN, was on aircraft carriers, and if someone went over, it would be difficult to retrieve them, unless they had the above mentioned devices. An aircraft carrier is 250 feet tall and over 1000 feet long, while cruise ships have a height above the waterline of around 72 metres (236ft 11in) and 1000 feet long respectively.

But in bootcamp they taught us how to float using our clothes in case we ever went overboard. But floating wont keep you from being eaten alive by sharks.

**edit

Watched video, it didn't look like that big of a ship but camera angle could be deceiving.
In the USN and can't correctly know the difference between a flare and flair. LMAO, Damn, they'll take anybody it seems.

It's that sinking feeling when you find yourself in a situation without a safety net.

This was something Jonathan Haidt wrote about where kids now are mollycoddled by parents and can't take controlled risks in childhood when the consequences aren't so high. This guy gets a little bit of freedom, does something stupid and pays the ultimate price.
"Human teleportation, molecular decimation, breakdown, reformation, is inherently purging. It makes a man a king" - Seth Brundle
