If you are in the purple or dark red, I wouldn't be exercising outside. If you are healthy, its not a big deal to be out randomly. The west deals with this on a yearly basis but when it happens to the east coast its some sort of huge deal. This is way overblown. What do you think wildland firefighters wear for protection? I'll give you a hint, not much, maybe a wet rag over their face and that's on the front line. My wife did wildland fire.

OMG the sun is red LOL. One thing smoke does is gives you amazing sunsets.

It has been tinder dry in Ontario and here in BC.

Lightning started many of the fires in Ontario in remote reasons.

We have 1 a couple hours from me that was apparently human started by not putting out their campfire properly. Just idiotic.
It has closed a highway to Tofino on the West Coast.

It is a controlled burn. You fight fire with fire a lot of the times. You burn areas ahead of the fire so when it gets there, guess what, the fire has no more fuel
