I would say that the women were more validating and less confrontational than the men. The last male therapist who I worked with very briefly was very action oriented. I'm not sure how helpful it was as far as learning anything, but there was a definite framework or checklist feel.
- last time we talked about this
- how did that go/how is that going
- what's happening now
- here is the plan until we check in again
And 90% of the time his feedback was what I already had in mind myself. But I guess it was nice to talk to someone and to have a little structure.
Highly believable. Suppose you are aware how weak the evidence is supporting SSRIs.

Threatening to take children from their parents if the parents don't affirm the child's chosen gender? It's literal insanity IMO...psychotic loss of contact with the reality of the damage being done to the children.
Blockers are essentially as good as a transition, and CA is removing every roadblock they can for starting teenagers on blockers. It's pretty messed up stuff.

Just another thing for women and left leaning dudes to condescend to men about.
Also LOL when people say "Men should express themselves!" Why, so you can have dirt on them for thinking outside the hive-mind? "Express yourself" is just ratting on yourself in 2023, let me express these balls into your mouth.

And, yes, insanity is the only way I can describe the pro-child castration movement. Because that is what is happening when you strip away the crazy talk. You are taking away functioning sexual organs when there is no functional replacement possible + administering hormones that do physiological damage, e.g. rapid bone loss for female to male trans caused by hormone manipulation. Physically damaging small humans with the belief that this will make them happier vs. helping said small humans adjust to the bodies that they are in fact living inside of.

My girl is a therapist... so she automatically will resort to this when she sees any sort of issues that someone faces. I get it tho, you are able to receive the proper skills that you normally might not in your every day life or even by loved ones around you
Men are pretty terrible at letting their emotions out, but also not very good at going to others for help or having the skills in place to navigate tougher times other than "just get over it"

I can tell from reading the various posts that 95% of miscers have a woefully simplisitic understanding of what constitutes therapy.
Having said that, I do think that a decent and talented therapist is very, very rare thing, thus an awful lot of therapy out there will be kinda ****.

Barrier to entry as a therapist is super low and is an attractive job to post-kids women who just want to stay at home all day and never actually deal with the real world with deadlines, performance targets, working in teams etc.
My sister recruits them and many are wet blankets on a good day or at worst a big fish in a pond of one that they create because they are divorced from actual reality. 80% of them are overweight too, if you can't even manage to put the cake fork down what hope do you have a helping anyone else?

JFL at therapy. Naturally minimize such dependencies, but internal rationalization & discussion is far more useful for men. It usually best revolves around this and about 2 or 3 of your boyos

Or do colt 45s, whichever sits with you best.

Because women love talking about their feelings. In therapy, not only do they get to do that, but they also get to make you talk about your feelings.

My partner wasn't on the dating market long at all before I met her, but she would tell me a couple of stories of guys who were on polar opposites of the spectrum where they would get drunk then cry to her about problems, or go through something and completely shut down.

There's lots of people who are "life coaches" that claim they do therapy but they're just garbage.

Female therapists tell them what the patient wants to hear rather than what they need to hear because you shouldn't invalidate someone. Male therapists are more focused on results even if it's a bitter pill to swallow for the patient
The goal of most therapists will not be to "validate" their patients, but rather to create a climate in which they feel fully "received".
As an aside: A big problem in the earliest stages of therapy is the patient's defensiveness. Most people don't attend therapy especially willingly, and the ones that do often have massive doubts about it. The therapist has no leverage if the patient is sitting there thinking, "lol this therapy stuff is complete horse chit, what a joke". So, the therapist's first task is getting the patient to lower his guard, so to speak.
