That’s when, as a peace officer, you arrest the suspect and then sit him down in a recovery position, contact EMS and ask permission to apply NARCAN.

When somebody is clearly erratic and fearful, it’s the officer’s duty to attempt basic first aid and be mindful of their overall well being. Doesn’t matter if it’s a disgusting, disgraceful criminal.

I fully believe he failed those duties and should absolutely keep the manslaughter charge. It’s the second and third degree murder charges that were excessive.

The other officers failing to correct Chauvin’s actions are absolutely guilty of involuntary manslaughter as well.

Their actions and inaction lead to the death of a human being. Plain and simple.
