I love how hard you are going into tracking Lotus' (Loti?). You have posted lots of lambos-outside-of-restaurant pics but I like how these things have got under your skin where it really matters. Jelly as hell.

The Lotus really isy favorite car I have ever driven. Just pure driving without computers and nannies.

Just crossed Mississippi! This is a fun trip and I just pulled a 5 hour stint and my son sat up front with me

70 miles from Arizona border. Just did another shift. My son and I listened to a couple Rogan podcasts. My son kept me fed with a few hot dog (love them but never eat them).. but perfect driving food

Still rolling! Approx 9 hours from Vegas(we are actually going about 40 min outside to Spring Mountain Raceway.

Really cool trip. Longest drive ever in my life. We have been rolling nonstop since yesterday morning. Two fuel stops. One more left.

When my buddy takes a break from driving and I drive, my son sits up front with me keeping.mw company.

We watched the sunrise just outside Amarillo with beautiful wind farms everywhere.

Getting into mew Mexico, he has never seen landscapes like this. Cool thing to share together! We are confirmed that we will be out on track later this week. Not sure what days. Lots of parts to organize and pack. Then fun stuff before we load up and return home!

Spent the day today getting all the spares and inventorying parts. He had them across 3 garages. Prepped car for going out.on track tomorrow! We set the seat for tonight. I'm letting him take it out first. We have to get signed off to run the track, so we installed the passenger seat which takes removing the cover panel as well.

So, pretty big let down today. Did not go as planned. We were supposed to spend the next 2 days running the track out here with the new car.

Unfortunately, non members have to be 18 to drive on track per their insurance. 16 is the age they let members drive. The guy we were buying the car from did not know that.

So I decided that if my son could not run, I would pass on running as well. My son told me to just go ahead and drive, but I really want to share this experience with him. So we loaded up the car early and will be making our way back east. We have our first scheduled track day in early Sept so we have that to look forward to.

OP: Good for you buddy. You seem to have made it, and maintained a good head on your shoulder even after making it. A lot of people start to think they are better than others when they have money, and value stuff like status etc. You seem to remember what's important in life.

To others reading this thread. Take a look at samsbolton. These kind of people are common when you find success, except since it's not an online forum they are disguised better. Friends will start to resent you because it's you, and not them who found success. You'll find out real quick who are real friends, and who secretly hope on your downfall because they think it's unfair that it's you and not them who made it.

It's also why so many rich people are so hush hush about their success.

Don't be a hater. Take this thread as motivation for what kind of life you want for yourself.

Thanks all. Started our trip home. 34 hrs of driving to go! (Plus 3 hours lost to time zones)

Had a great time and great experiences. Since we could not.run track, got to do some side by side runs through the mountains. Unreal beauty of the landscapes. Climbed up to where there was at least a 10deg temp drop. Unreal views with unlimited visibility.

The guy we.bought the car from took us out to a great steakhouse for dinner last night. He wants us to make a return trip in 2 years when my son is 18 to visit and drive the track and stay with him. I think we have made a new friend which is all part of how great these experiences are.


Before we left, another guy we made friends with out here invited my son to sit in a F3 car he runs. He heard we are going to come again in 2 years and invited my son to sit in an F3 car. (This single gesture probably made my son's trip). He then said when we come out he will let him test in the car on track for a few sessions!

It never cease to amaze me how wonderful life can be. Being open the greet the experiences, come at life with positive energy and I really believe that energy is reflected back to you.

This trip turned into way more than just buying a car. It will be a lifelong memory we can enjoy for years to come. AND, we now have some new friends which hopefully we will see again to make more memories!
