Finding a person that makes you want to devote yourself to them is a good thing. It becomes GREAT when that person is worthy of that and gives you the same back.
I know it is rare, but does that mean it is not worth trying to achieve. Lots of things that we value are 'hard'. Does not mean it is not worth trying.

especially after marriage you will find out who you really married later on in the beginning everyone is at their best behavior but you only really get to know the real person when you have been living together for at least a couple of years.

I had a bro move in this his girl after a few years of dating. Moved out four months later, and got fuk'd with still having to pay the lease, but it was worth the cost to him.
Reason being is he said he didn't have any more alone time after work. As soon as he popped through the door he had to start dealing with the bullshyt.

They'll talk about how fun and perfect the new person they're dating is, and how different they are from the ex who they lived with. No chit the new person seem perfect when you haven't had to deal with the trash yet lmao

What's more believable to you? That a woman who still speaks bitterly about an ex from like 15+ years ago and how she feels she got F'd over in the divorce voluntarioy waived alimony payments purely out of the goodness of her heart?
or, that getting that alimony wasn't as sure of a thing as she wished it was, so she waived it to avoid a court battle she had a decent chance of losing regarding the issue?

Right?
I guarantee the conversation with her divorce attorney went something along those lines, where they just had to face reality that trying to go after her ex for alimony probably wasn't going to be worth the hassle. The day a divorce attorney allows a female client of theirs who is in good position to get alimony to just waive it out of the goodness of their hearts would be a cold day in hell.

Also, family court is notrious for having minimal set rules and letting judges do whatever the hell they want within an unusually broad scope for court cases. Yes there are rules and guidelines, but divorce/family court is a joke in terms of how broad of power judges have in them.

You *might* get alimony or more money but it's hard to hire that attorney up front with a $20,000 retainer fee.

20 years in and if I was giving 22 year old me advice, I'd tell me to do it again.
Honestly, I have a hard time taking anyone's advice on marriage that says out of thousands they only know one happy married couple.

If you have no plans to have kids, then I would agree getting married makes zero sense other than for minor tax benefits.
That said, if you follow this advice, you will be a 60+ year old loner with no family. Your life will be pointless and empty. That is the real black pill here.

As much as I'd like to go the traditional route and get married, have a wife & kids, etc. I don't think it's really too viable these days. Society and people's sentiments have changed to where people don't see marriage as the institution it once was.... or thought of to be. The current generation, and obviously a lot of upcoming generations, seem to favor experiences above all else. Marriage and family isn't going to be a positive experience 100% of the time so people forfeit that in favor of something much more self-serving, to help mitigate any potential hardships they, themselves may experience. Naturally they don't see the inherent positives in a lifelong companionship with someone you created a family with, either. We now have women saying "I'd rather be a single mom" and men saying "I'd rather just pay child support" even.
The fabric of society has been unraveled too much and we probably can't go back. The sky is falling, too.
And I've always contended a serious majority of people who go through a divorce or a nasty breakup, have kids with "the wrong person" and so forth, just didn't do their due diligence on the other person and vet them properly. Notice I said "a majority" and not all of them. Most people will make too drastic of compromises for the sake of not being lonely or maybe their biological clock is ticking. I can't count how many times I hear about breakups, separations, divorces, and the person goes on about the red flags they chose to ignore. I have a very difficult time believing the person suddenly changed so drastically at the age when the brain is much less plastic and people are mostly set in their ways. inb4 people reply with unverified exceptions and their personal stories.

Marriage is worth trying if:
- She makes similar, or larger, income to you
- She is more traditional (helps if she grew up in a non-Western culture)
- You can make eachother coom
- You enjoy your time together, as opposed to seeing it as an obligation
- There's kids involved, or a plan for future kids together
Simple as that. I know some of you might view the first two bullet points as contradictory, but if she has a solid income, there's no fear of gold digging / work refusal /divorce rape. If she has traditional values (no cheating, no desire for open relationships or multiple partners, might stay at home solely for younger ages of kids and then goes back to work), less concern for divorce, and a higher chance of adhering to the vows (till death do us part).

You want a traditional career girl lmao.
You want it all. don't ya.
All your bullet points are kind of retarded. Be in a marriage for 10 years and see if any of that applies.
Kids just aren't enough today to keep a marriage intact.
The marriage has to work to raise kids. If your marriage is failed/toxic, the kids are going to grow up in a slightly better situation maybe than in a divorced setting.
You ever lived with parents who are at each others necks all the time? It doesn't work out well for the kids.
And like the lawyer said. In the modern world of technology, where infidelity is almost certain during rough patches....
Good luck.
People think men seeing escorts and prostitutes is a incel thing. I've watched tons of interviews Mark has done with street walkers, escorts, and they all say that married men are their base clients, because pussy will get cut off at a certain point.

I found a full time job after 4 months of searching after he said he was divorcing me, making 1/4 of what he made. My lawyer said that was really good and rare that I found a job so soon. He did cheat and was making a lot of money when he asked for a divorce to be with his mistress. So I was fully justified in taking alimony but I didn't.Why do you describe it as you were "entitled" to alimony payments? By family court laws in your state, I'm sure you're right that you'd have had a good case for it.
I'm not talking about that, though. I'm talking about what is morally right. How would it be morally right for you to receive alimomy payments from him after the divorce? Do you still provide him with regular social company, affection, and sex? Of course not. So why should he have been on the hook for paying for your lifestyle long after you've gone? The only way alimony makes sense from a moral standpoint is if the woman did the stay at home mom thing, and wasn't working at the time of the divorce either. Even then, that's kinda bs to me, because no one is stopping you from applying to endless entry level jobs. Sucks for her if the man was a prick and cheated or whatever, but women were the ones who wanted no-fault divorce laws as the law of the land, so whatever.
How exactly were you the one who got fuked over financially, but not him?
