The only people complaining about it were literally the reddit soycucks who expected a GTA 6 because their favorite influencer shilled them the idea and people playing the console versions.
The game definitely got better with time, updates added many cool elements of the game but i think a lot of features were kept in the back burner for Phantom Liberty.
Also the art of the game is top class, level design too. The story and lore is amazing as well with so many potential ways to expand on it indefinitely.

Strong talking out of your ass. Game was released 2 years too early. It had a ton of bugs, even on PC. Not to mention the trash AI in fights, and how about dem police teleporting next to you on top of buildings? Consoles couldn't even run the damn game so most footage of dumb chit you saw was on PC.
Implying that entire chit show of a launch was only redditers is delusional as hell, it was a massive embarrassment across the board. CP 2077 was hyped as the second coming of Jesus, it was marketed to be game of the century. Acting like influencers shilled the game when CD Red have been heavily marketing it since the launch of the PS4 just demonstrates your bias.
In its current state, or at least up until the official next gen update, I give it a 7.25 overall. The lifeless feeling world, the long walking segments with dialog dumps, not much gameplay and the lack of a really inspiring story were its biggest downfalls. And those are after a ton of patches to even get the game to how it should be at launch.
If Phantom Liberty fixes these issues and is like an 8.5/10 I may get back into it.

Things only started to turn around after Edgerunners got released.

But I also remember gta v launching on Xbox 360 when it absolutely should not have. You couldn't even drive full speed because you'd just hit pop in trees and chit.
GTA v launched like a month before the new consoles came out, was completely horrible. Then a year later, they drop the newer console version, for full price. Then a year later, pc version, full price.
I was glad when Sony pulled cyberpunk even tho I liked the game on pc at the time, I thought it was a good warning for devs, don't fuk around because you will find out

But was the game bad on PC ? No. I encountered almost no bugs and i had 2-3 playthroughs lol. My only issue with the game was the horrendous balancing and a lots of features that weren't in the game on day 1. NPC encounters could have been better for sure but side quests were pretty chill.
But yes i stand by my point, a lot of the backlash came from retarded redditors who expected too much to begin with, and also from the console community which put the nail in the coffin for the devs. Just look at the reddit hype posts surrounding the game, people were legit expecting a totally different STYLE of game so even a finished fukin game would have gotten backlash at this point lol. The game shouldn't have been released on last-gen consoles and should have been delayed by a year minimum.

Something about cyberpunk told me to do manual saves while I was playing, if I didn't I would have been stuck in an endless death loop srs

I wonder should I do a new playthrough now or later? I'm gonna want to sink my teeth into the new DLC. Though if I start now, the perk system is being revamped.

There will be major changes to the base game.
