If your lease is over, then GTFO. If it's mid lease, then yeah they should find you a suitable unit to fulfill the remainder.
May 2024

And they have a suitable unit but they're charging me extra for it.

Even living alone I can afford the new rent, but how am I suppose to save for a house when the rent is so high? I've got quite a bit saved right now, but I cannot compete with boomers and Vanguard/Blackrock who are buying 800k-1.5mil homes in cash.

OR I can just move to Texas and assist in the rising rates of property there. Trust me I'm more willing to pay an inflated price in Texas than a native texan....but you'll then say "phuck off we're full."

I also bet weve seen each other around the area without knowing it

I'm about a block away from Westfield Mall. I go to the 24hr fitness. Use to walk to Bristol Farms (when they were open) to do my shopping.

lol@property owner trying to break a lease

That's the bottom line to all this. You will win. They won't get away with this, especially in Califas of ass. If you do wind up moving see what added expenditures you can tack on...moving costs, other bullchit you can make up. Ask your attorney. All this bullchit can definitely be a financial win for you.
