The odd thing is...he seems to hate this place so much, yet insists on being a part of it too. If this place causes you so much distress, why not stop coming here? That would seem like the reasonable thing to do.

Dress code makes sense, good point. When people have highlighted that other kids are allowed to wear patches it becomes invalid.

Coupled with that if you watched the video, the school staff member clealry outlines why they wont let him have the patch - for slavery and racist origins. How is that not political? Censoring something for political reasons?

Added to this that the mother pointed out that the origins of the flag are to do with the revolution and she asserts that it's not racial or slavery motivated creates a case for policatly motivated censorship.

So if there is at least a plausible scanario that a kid is being politically censored by a school - this should totally be a news story for the simple outcome that the school's behaviour/actions are being exposed to the public and we would hope that with wider scrutiny, a more balanced outcome would be reached.

Funny story, I often comment how much I love that flag and wish I could wear/display it without negative assumptions.

As for the story, depends on dress code. I suspect the kid is doing it to get a rise out of people and I’m 100% positive the parents exploited it. I’m not overly sympathetic to anyone here.
