So it's okay for healthy young people to be take vaccines?

Gain of function research is a pretty broad term. Virology experiments designed to gain understanding of biology, ecology, and pathogenesis of viruses is pretty important, imo.

A lot of those CI's exclude 1.0, thus would be considered statistically significant at an alpha of 0.05.
