Yeah dude. It sucked hard. Happened just before turning 36. I was at my physical strongest then. Worked out 5 days a week. Bought a boat the year before. Was salt water fishing at least 1 day a week from May to Oct. Fresh water fishing March-May. Enjoyed my job. Went thru some harsh depression.

I can't pass out from trauma for some reason and dislocating my kneecap was pain I didn't know existed...I broke out into an instant sweat and was so soaked it looked like I jumped into a swimming pool

OP that must have been 15/10 pain...Its probably a blessing you passed out from the pain lol

about the same as my brother after car wreck but he died not long after from a infection in his dislocated hip

If I sit on a hard chair too long it hurts. The thought of a bicycle seat makes me twinge. I’d rather walk on the street, or on the beach and bring the pupper with. I also have an elliptical in my home gym that I’d use if on days I didn’t lift, or walk. Of course I’ve got to see what my ortho says first about what to do next.

The only dangerous thing about an exercise is the person doing it.

The first shot didn’t get me high, it gave me a strange taste in my mouth, though it could’ve been the anti nausea they hit me with first. It took the pain from 10/10 to 9/10. Still couldn’t complete sentences due to the pain and screaming. I was giving one and two word answers.

The second shot got me buzzing, took the pain from 9/10 to 7/10. It was enough where I could complete sentences. But not enough to zombie-fy me. Pain went back to 10/10 when they moved me. Needed a break after they moved me from floor to carrier(still in shower) another from shower to bathroom floor. And a brief one before putting me on the gurney.

The rest of the way to the hospital was 7/10 which was an absolute joy compared to the 10/10.

You a chronic dislocator? Traumatic? Atraumatic? I assume it’s more than one dislocation if he wants to do a remplissage, or May be single dislocation with large instability.
Surgeon has me listed as having "recurrent dislocations" and yes he has it also listed as "traumatic" (ski crash @ jackson Hole). I also have torn muscles but he isn't going to fix them as I have rebuilt the strength.

But my question is my understanding is the remplissage procedure has a high rate of failure. is this true? If it does fail what exactly does this mean since tissue is being taken from a healthy area

About an hour after getting the ******** it started to wear off. They then gave me Dilaudid.

To knock me out to put the hip back in, the ER doc gave me 7 doses of Propofol and said he’s never given anyone that much before. He said I was still screaming as they put it back, but I don’t remember any of that. I was nodding out shortly after the second or third dose.

No vomiting, sweating of hangover effects afterward.

Now I have hydrocodone-apap 325 mg for home. But I only took it before going to bed for the night.

Not in pain now, just sore and a little uncomfortable.

Don’t know the guy but looks like he’s a generalist, although he says he’s specialized in hip and knee recon. He likely does primary hips and knees. You need a fellowship trained hip and knee recon surgeon who does a lot of revisions.
