Ascites is a medical emergency, it’s not something you can just live with. It’s like the beginning of the end, a sign that your body is falling off the cliff. You have to stop drinking immediately, or death is imminent. Srs.

Your boyfriend and dad in India probably had large amounts of visceral fat. I doubt they had ascites.

Try some herbs , meditation , maybe therapy . The bottle only leads to depression in the long run.

He drank white claws and beer at work. I first met him and he was pretty straight and arrow, but there were a few days he would come in and his teeth would be stained red. I asked him wtf was that, and he said he had a calcium deficiency and was going to the dentist later that day. Turned out he was just downing a few bottles of red wine the night before and woke up too hungover to even brush his teeth.

After I left there and started a new job he told me that he had switched to vodka/redbull. About 6 months before turning yellow and with ascites, a former co-worker reached out to me asking if I had talked to him and that he needed as much help as possible. Apparently all of his muscle had wasted away and none of his clothes fit. And he was sent home from work for drinking which he denied to me. I asked him wtf dude and of course like most alcoholics he lied. Last time I saw him before he turned yellow and swollen he looked pathetic. I told him wtf dude go to rehab. A month later swollen and yellow. So yeah smoking and liquor might have progressed it way faster than beer.

For all the drunks in this thead - please make sure you are taking enough vitamin B. Alcohol abuse can cause thiamine deficiency which can cause all kinds of issue. Look it up, or just trust me and take a ****load of vitamin b
