I know a lot of gambling junkies so I see her point.

Lets imagine your girlfriend/wife starts 'betting' on some kind of dumb feminine activity. It becomes wide-spread/common. The question you have to ask yourself is. How many thousand per week in losses is acceptable? How many weeks of losses is acceptable? How many thousands in debt is acceptable?

If your girl loses like $100 per week probably not a big deal. But what about if she loses $1000 per week? What about when she's in debt and is still placing bets week after week after she promises you she'll quit?

I'd say for guys I know that make around 100K per year. $1000-5000 losses can be fairly common. Its any time there is a big game or fight. Of course they hit and 'win' sometimes. But at the end of the year they are always down. I'm sure dudes that just place casual bets have no idea what kind of rabbit hole other dudes go down. When you start losing 1000-2000k regularly check back in.

For a dude making 100K per year with his salary. I'd say 20-30K per year in gambling losses isn't that uncommon. Just based on the gambling addicts I know.

Its unlikely sports betting is the single reason so many young dudes are single. But I can definitely see sports betting as a big factor in ending relationships.

There is a pretty big difference in casual investing and sports betting. I do safe long term investments and when the markets are down never sell and cash out anything. I've never take a loss in the markets.

The only possible way to compare the two is imagine if you went on a 15 year run and never lost a single bet. That's what my investing accounts reflect. My account is only ever in the green. Even when the market has tanked massively. My account still remained in the green. I did not sell. It went back up. And I'm still up massively. Even when I was swing trading/buying/selling stocks regularly I never took a loss. Only a bunch of small wins that ended up putting me up massively.

I don't really have an issue with gambling. I have an issue with losing. I'd say do the math if you can't average 1K per month gambling or be up at least 10-12K at the end of every year from gambling proceeds. You suck and should find a new hobby.

I only have one friend that can consistently gamble and win (Typically wins about 30-50K per year on average). And his game is cards. I don't know any body that 'makes it' betting on the performance of other men/teams.

you're looking at relationships ending due to gambling problems, but these men largely werent ever in a relationships. its a false narrative to obfuscate the real issues.

in terms of investing vs gambling, I was talking more about the process of what you're doing. There are obviously investing strategies that are a lot more safe, but a guy researching equities and making some picks is no different than someone researching sports teams doing the same. Its gambling. But society will say the equities investor is some ambitious informed alpha male while the sports bettor is a degenerate.

A lot of people are making money gambling. Daily fantasy sports got popular because people were winning money. Now, you gotta be smart just like investing. One of my best friends won 2 $100k pots last year alone. He's very good at math.

Its not different than people doing the same thing on wall street.

There are plenty of ways to be degen in the stock market too nowadays, but degen activity in the stock market is not investing

What an idiot.

This guy is definitely not Ivy League educated.

Just because both involve risk doesn't mean they are the same.

Buying stock is owning a percentage of a corporation with existing assets and future cash flows.

Different type of investment. The bottom line is you're speculating on the future based on your research/strategy/information. No difference in the end game which is a portfolio return.

Are they all mentally ill? Why won't he just admit feminism ruined this country and women's standards are insane to the point of delusion now?

When feminism and clown culture tells 4/10 women they are perfect and they deserve the perfect man while simultaneously telling average normal men they are evil sexists, it leads 4/10s to expect a Chad, and Chad will happily pump and dump her.
Well eventually she's going to want a family, especially after she's a bridesmaid in her friends' weddings, and Chad ain't gonna be it.

Go to Disneyland and you'll see a ton of average to below average couples with kids, so someone is having sex.

We're talking about Gen Z though. Gen Z sloots have never had to give average men a chance because they grew up on dating apps and social media. At minimum Gen Z sloots got with Chadlites. I don't think Gen Z women will ever settle. They'd rather stay single over being with an average man

Plus, I think polygamy will be socially acceptable in 10 years : 1 man with multiple female partners

Investing is putting money towards something productive and then cash being returned to you through the operation of that thing

IE you build a factory to make widgets, sell the widgets for a profit, those profits are returned to you through things like cash dividends

Stocks are pieces of companies, buying equity in a company that operates factories is effectively buying pieces of those factories and what they produce.

That is investing, speculating in the stock market is mostly gambling

Lol, if you think about it, buying shares of companies that pay no dividend is one of the biggest scams ever. And now instead of allowing markets to correct in normal fashion, they allowed people's returement accounts to be invested in these things, so the government now has a duty to prop up these asset values.

Strong this.

The media always gets it wrong. Sometimes it is ignorance and other times it is intentional.

In this case, it's intentional.

Remember the Colombine shootings? The media blamed music and video games. The problem there was literally millions of kids were also listening to metal and playing violent video games and managed to make it through high school without shooting it up.

What they didn't blame was bad parenting, a fooked up culture, and the massive amount of bullying going on mixed with unchecked mental illness, which were the real reasons for those shootings.

Yeah man the focus on stock price speculation and buying low + selling high is crazy, and that’s not what I would call real investing — though the market value of a company ends up being the projected value of the cash dividends that company will eventually pay out discounted against interest rates over X years until the payout happens

Lots of crap has been woven around it but the core concept is still based around forming a corporation that provides a good/service, owning part of that corp, and the corp paying you dividends that are cash generated through its operation. 100% of my regular income these days is dividends paid from my corporation to me, stocks are the same thing just much larger and more complex.

My daughter and her friends are 18, gorgeous with the cutest clothes at 110 lbs, and they say they don't like Chads because they're mostly jackasses and worry about Chads cheating.

They are way above their boyfriends in terms of looks.

But then again, one had a boyfriend who wasn't attractive at all and he cheated.

So you say they will rather stay single vs. getting with the average man. Well, they will want kids at some point and I can tell you that just when my husband was out of town, being a single mother is BRUTAL!! I can't tell you how exhausted I was.

Believe me, most women want to find a provider.

You're trying to get with white woman when you're Indian and that's REALLY tough. My gorgeous blonde friend married an Indian man, but that's not typical and I live around a lot of Indians as you know.

For sure, but with stocks it's all based on a "promise of future appreciation" instead of any type of actual current income or benefits.

In the past was referred to as a "Ponzi Scheme" and was a tactic of con artists lol

Being serious though, your daughter and her friends would still take an aggressive dicking from the chads if they knew nobody would find out.

The girls around her in college hooked up with frat guys, but my daughter is into relationships and not hookups. Those girls weren't her friends, did Pepsi so she got zero sleep with her roommate keeping her up, and she's not a partier so she left that toxic environment.

She's always had a boyfriend since age 15.

She's not vain and slooty like I used to be. She's always been more attractive than her boyfriends. At least I raised her well, even though I fuked up myself in the past.

Ya that's what I mean. I meant to say "Feminism pushed women away from men" instead of the other way around.

Come on, you never see whites with Indians in Silicon Valley. never. That is so rare. If it happens it's just a temp placeholder until the Indian finds another Indian. Indians won't even hire whites let alone date them. The best is I'm running in my neighborhood or driving and you see an Indian couple walking, the male is ten feet in front of the female. they don't even view them as equals.

My white friend lived in Silicon Valley when she married that Indian guy. But they got divorced after they moved away. He was VERY controlling and even sat on the court when we played tennis to make sure she didn't talk to another man. NO man has ever done that when I play tennis with a lady!

It was so bizarre. He's a nice guy and I really like him, but I wouldn't want to be in a relationship with him.
