I hated that scene but I think the crying one who refused to save Mellish (the one dying slowly and painfully) was brought on the mission as a translator not a soldier. He didn’t want to kill or be killed so he made himself useful by bawling his eyes out in cowardice instead of saving mellish.

I thought the death of the soldier crying for his mommy was more gut wrenching to me personally.

I found the opening of Disturbia to be pretty horrendous to watch. Kid and father having a nice day fishing and then the road accident happens.
