I agree with this, although maybe closing the Misc should be a temporary measure to encourage pathetic altmaxxers to go troll elsewhere, as the idea over time would still be to attract new users who are actually interested in lifting, fitness lifestyle, etc. I imagine there should be some way to then prevent the alts from returning.

I agree that requiring an actual purchase through BB.com could be a good filter, but there would probably need to be categories that don't count and/or a dollar threshold so someone can't spend $1 for a BB.com sticker or some dumb chit to circumvent. The weirdos creating new alts constantly are probably not going to spend $50 on a tub of pre-workout each time they want another username.

Maybe new accounts can lurk but can't post for the first 30 days or something. That might help stop some of these guys from re-entering threads 30 seconds after being banned but under a new username.

Maybe new accounts that go red and stay that way for 30-60 days get banned. Anyone who is here for the right reasons and not just for trolling, e-fighting nonsense should have no problem staying green (or should at least be able to right the ship within a reasonable amount of time if they get negged early on.

That would probably help a good bit, but I think you'd need something more nuanced to discourage the dedicated trolls (e.g., Wincel and the guy who has now gone through like 50 separate Muzz--press accounts) who would just spam posts to unlock thread-creation privileges. I guess permabanning obvious alts doesn't work if they can use VPNs or whatever to circumvent an IP ban. Not super familiar with that.

Maybe some would tough it out, but the current system is so rewarding - new account and instantly spam new threads until ban. I don't know how many would be committed enough to earn it.
