If anything you are just proving the point I am actually making on the subject I'm actually talking about... Impactful things like guns and fighters shouldt be behind pay walls lmao. i don't give a chit which is more Impactful or harder for devs to balance, I never said shooters were harder or took more work. Show me where I said that?

Once again, at no point was I arguing which is more Impactful, harder to create, or needs more balancing or anything like that. My entire point is that they shouldn't be behind a pay wall because someone who pays for the characters has access to things you don't, and that is bad for the competitive integrity of a video game.

Idk how much simpler I can explain it to you
Great, you said your piece. You are the only person on the entire internet complaining about this and you're not even remotely involved in the game or even the genre overall. Go elsewhere and complain on a game you at least intend to invest in and leave this thread so the actual fans can talk about it. We have literally one thread on the game and you made your point you won't be buying it. Thank you, and now you can gtfo.

Lmao, you're the one that started with this chit you little homo. I was having normal conversation, 0 insults and then you got completely butthurt like you always do and started insulting me as per usual. You're a little Phàggot who can't handle any time I make a post you don't like and it sends you into a seething rage every time. I live rent free in your head 24/7 on this forum, you simply cannot have a conversation with me without insults. That's fine, I think you're a complete retard too, but don't act like I started ruining this thread. You started with me as you usually do.

I like playing eddy, why would I want to buy a game that's putting my favorite character behind a pay wall. I'm already paying 70 bucks.

To me this is the equivalent of a shooter locking guns behind dlc. I ain't gunna play a game where someone has better characters than me because they paid for them.

I'm sure when they release dlc characters they will be op as fuk too, so people who play online will have to buy them to keep up with the meta. Oldest trick in the book.

Anyways I'm absolutely just done buying anything that does this kinda stuff. All I can do is speak with my wallet on a personal level.

And you would be expecting wrong. Tekken is 30 years old, spanning around a dozen releases and has well over 100 characters. Expecting literally all of them to be in each iteration is retarded.

Then play another character or don't buy the game. Most people who play the game main multiple characters because they know their character isn't guaranteed in the next release. That's just the nature of literally every fighting game. Street Fighter 6 released with just 20 characters.

Dumb analogy. There are no better characters in this game like there are better guns. You can win with literally any character. Also, just lol @ comparing a gun which is easy to add vs designing a whole new character with 100 unique moves. How long would Tekken 8 take to develop if they had to make a game with 150 characters?

Not how fighting games work, you dumb as hell. Stick to your shooters man lol. A player recently won a major tournament tournament with Panda bear who is considered the lowest tier character. The skill ceiling for each character is way, way higher than any player can ever achieve. There will never be a DLC character that breaks the game so that everyone is forced to play it, unlike shooters.

What a clown, you were never gonna buy the game anyway. Every single fighting game has this same model, and you acting shocked and appalled by this shows you know nothing about the genre and would never be into it anyway. As I said before, shooters are all you know and you should stick to them.

It's the entire game you're designing. It's more comparable to a shooting game if the new gun changed everything else about the game like movement, map layout/verticality, melees, (etc...; and that's just basic chit like COD; the comparison falls even more flat for something like Battlefield or Siege). The shooting isn't really the entire game in a shooter, and one gun wont change things significantly.

The fighter IS the entire game in a given fighting game. It's more comparable to an expansion.

Just because you want to ignore the work that goes into any given fighter, doesn't really invalidate it. Both the effect on gameplay and the work cost justify expansion packs of characters. I know getting Eddie back would be a huge game changer for me, since he's my number 1 main (and thank **** he comes in the spring; fallback to dragunov until then, and maybe try Victor).

That said, I'm always up for free chit, and I don't really like arguing on behalf of chitty corporations. Whether or not it's justified doesn't really matter, and if you want to take a stance against it I'll even support it. More power to you man.
You're wasting your time and so am I by allowing this goober to completely derail a good thread so he can complain about the "sanctity of competitive gaming". He doesn't give a fuk about Tekken, all he's trying to do is virtue signal and show us how much of a super gamer he is. The dummy is even using different genres like shooters and MOBAS to compare it to a fighting game, meanwhile the actual players who invested 10+ years of their lives on the game are happy to get new characters to keep the game exciting for years.

Sweet, we hear you. It's a Tekken thread for Tekken players. At least do right by everyone else who are getting the game and want to have a productive discussion. Peace out.

Lol at latching onto anyone you can find who disagrees with me like the pathetic little Phàggot you are. You suck anyone's dick who quotes me and disagrees LMAO

Anyway now that gooby is finally gone

I was fully intending to go back to Yoshi, but playing around in practice last night and he didn't feel as complete as everyone else I tried. The others just have so many tools like strong pokes and powerful strings and mids while Yoshi still relies on his gimmick of being crazy all over the place to confuse people with mix ups. Lacks consistency still imo.

Been a big follower of Eyemusician's Yoshi and it's cool seeing him back in T8.

Goddamn this game is hard playing as Bryan. Seems like Victor, Reina, Dragunov, Feng , even Law and king are OP as fukk with so many moves plus on block. Having a hard time with Bryan in ranked, almost seems unfair. They've pandered to new players I guess. + the Heat mechanic makes spacing redundant as they can just rush up to you twice in a match. With the rage and Heat, theres too much fancy bling bling going but not enough tekken. I think T5 was peak gameplay.

I don't mind losing to Dragonuv, Feng, Law, and maybe King. At least you know whats going on

That Reina chick is something else though. You can just spam combos,it's hard to understand what she's doing on screen and if you can't punish, you're done. The coffee chick is probably worse.

Great thing is we have youtube. Gonna wait for some videos then hit the lab and learn to punish those new characters

I disagree I think Bryan is in a really good place right now. He is such a strong rush down character and does a bunch of damage.

@Mike surprisingly I'm not having a hard time with Reina at all, I think she's mid at best. If I had to take a guess I'd say the top tier characters seem to be Nina, Hwoarang, Xiaoyu, Jun, Lars, Devil Jin, Dragunov. Azucena is a wild card too cuz she's very frustrating to play against.

I'm a monster with Victor right now though the character has some flaws. Haven't been online yet but I'm destroying ghosts so I decided last night to start working on a second character. Will either be Jun or Lars. Really wanted to learn Devil Jin but he's impossible on a PS5 controller.

What online rank are you?

My problem with Reina and Azucena are them doing crazy fast high flying moves. There's no real tactic for those players, it's just string after string. Hell Lili is a problem too. Add in Heat mechanics and I cant keep up what's going on screen. I know it's probably a matter of my eyes not being trained. Paul is also on the slow side, so that makes it harder.

Not playing online yet, just against ghosts in the secret stage in arcade quest. Azucena has a bunch of mixups, that's true. Reina has a lot of strings but it's less confusing for me than Azu. What I do is keep my spacing and wait for them to whiff, then I punish with a launcher or strong mid to stun and chain a combo. Movement in this game is really important, probably the most so you gotta learn how to back off quickly and work on your side stepping as well. Paul is slower but imo he packs a huge punch and great at countering and punishing. Another thing to work on your defense is to practice a little the characters you're having problems with. If you know their moves you can learn how and when to punish. Another helpful thing is if you check your replays it will pause the exact places you got hit and tell you how to punish. It will even let you try it out right there in the replay itself.

You can add back his normal hairstyle in alternate costume. The Karen cut is atrocious

What the heck, I didn't know that about replays.

There's a punishment section in practice, but it's only basic moves

Lol yeah check out the replay mode. It's cool and you can learn how to deal with a certain character. It's also giving you the basic moves you can do but it shows you how to read the enemy attacks and know when to do them.

Yeah it's great. I kept all the sick tracks from Tekken 8 like the Colosseum or the Tornado stage and changed out the boring ones with older scores. Every stage hits hard now.
