I hope this doesn't start a new trend. The main reason to get one console over the other is exclusives. If this starts to happen with more games, I feel like it's MS's sneaky way to dip out of the console market and focus on just making 3rd party games. Sony needs direct competition, and we all know Nintendo has its own market on lock and doesn't care about big budget games.

Could Valve jump in? I don't know much about them, do they have the expertise? They already have a handheld console, not sure how well it's done.

If Microsoft goes, Valve would have a huge chunk of the marketshare. Only downside is they can't price a console more than $550.


I don't see Nintendo competing anymore tbh, but it's plausible, they gotta have the money

Sony is in no position to be claiming Microsoft is in a bad financial situation lol, heck Microsoft could easily just buy Sony entirely and turn them into their hardware division. Nobody is saying Microsoft is in trouble. The Xbox division is in trouble. Gamepass has stagnated. Theyre biggest IP, Starfield, flopped. I was just thinking they might stand a chance when rumors or Indiana Jones might come to PS5. That's signs of giving up.

Software wise, they would still do bad. They can't go the software route outside of COD. Bethesda is dead. Halo/Gears are dead horses. They have nothing going for them outside of Indiana Jones

It's only because people hate on every Xbox game that comes out. Gaming has basically turned into a Sony/Nintendo hive mind at this point. Halo is legit as good as it's ever been yet people say it is this horrible game. It's pretty weird tbh.

Indiana Jones is going to be mediocre like everything else. Because it's another empty world game. But yeah let's not even attempt to make other types of games because they will get chit on too.

I disagree that their software is bad. Starfield didn’t light the world on fire, but it didn’t flop. The majority of their first party games this gen have been good, outside of redfall

Yes i was, i was around for the OG Xbox Live launch. Xbox One was a garbage console from a gaming and graphics perspective. They were trying to turn it into a PC or entertainment system but let me tell you xbox already sucked before that. It went to chit around 2008 tbh.

Series X is a vast improvement but Sonycels cannot stand that they are doing good things with their system and bringing the joy back to gaming. It isn't as good as the 360 but it sure as hell beats the monotonous walking simulators and cinemas that are on the Sony Playstation 5.
