To summarize, he does whatever it takes to do what he sets out to do even if it means dying or doing serious damage to his body. He went from fatass to navy seal to ultra marathon runner to triathlete to guinness world record holder for pull ups in 24 hours

In my opinion the best way is to process your emotions fully through instead of sucking it up and playing stoic all the time. You go through a bunch of **** and all the pains then come out the other side stronger instead of saying you tried to bypass it by ignoring it.

It really is suck it up & move the fuk on. In every aspect of life.
None of this talking chit never did any favours for me except keep procrasination up, spin wheels, make me feel worse.

Ok so he’s an athlete? So what? I don’t get it. Anyone with enough time on their hands can run a marathon. lol

Like it’s pretty cool and all I just don’t get what is so great about him

You're right. Anyone can run a marathon. But how many would quit during training or the actual race? His point is that anyone can do what he did but don't push themselves past their perceived limit and ultimately quit

never liked him, he uses his SEAL cert as a badge of honour, yet he's never seen combat due to "health reason"

He does retarded chit because he's retarded. He's not the first moron to run a marathon. He hasn't proven anything.

Of all his accomplishments, you chose the easiest one. Even then, what % of the population could actually finish a marathon when given the challenge

I don’t get it. There are a million people that run marathons every year. Yeah it’s impressive but so is juggling or magic tricks or coding or speaking multiple languages or dunking a basketball or the thousands of other things I can’t do.

Does David Goggins have a world record or something? I’m not trying to downplay his accomplishments I’m really just trying to figure out why he is on Joe Rogan and people talk about him being so badass.

Maybe not immediately but there is such a thing as delayed consequences. If your dad dies you need to go through the motions instead of herp derp toughen up bro move da fuk on.

Distracting yourself but "getting after it" is only delaying the inevitable, and you never know how having bent up issues impacts you down the road.

but then again you're a red gay alt so you're probably asian and have no soul anyways, so this might go over your head.

Being a SEAL is being a SEAL, if a person happen to be on a SEAL team and passes up on missions then it doesn't say good about Navy SEALs

You don't have to be a stay at home dad to have a bit of control over the relentless inflow and outflow of wives and children from your life.

And you don't need the extreme mental discipline to diet and exercise your way down from being a 300lb fatass if you have the normal mental discipline to not become a 300lb fatass.

And he failed some of his biggest tests, like the televised chin-up record and the ultra in Hawaii because he was too lazy/disorganised to check equipment etc beforehand.

No hate for the guy. His book is entertaining. And as a former ultramarathon runner myself me and my training buddies used to eat that stuff up. But he isn't a disciplined person. He's a working through his childhood abuse and trauma via a self flagellation fetish.

He's done marathons but he mostly does ultras (trail and road). for those that don't know, ultras are 30 miles and up. I think his longest ultra was the Badwater 135 which is 135 miles.

I just figured that since most of goggins accomplishments were athletic, a gay bodybuilding website would celebrate him. Nobody wants to learn how to juggle or do magic tricks. The chit he does is badass

Im white.

Theres those times.
But then its a quick cry & back on grind.
I dont need to deal with no bullchit psychologist chit chat for months, to not feel bad about my dead mother ill gladly feel bad about her being gone any day of the week it just pushes me forward makes me dial in.
When you tough it out it doesnt actually mean just close all emotion. Thats wack. Point is you gotta move on & bear the emotions.
If your gf leaves u, you move on you dont let it affect your goals. You lace your workboots on crying. But u damn go do handle your business.
