My mom drove me all the way to school. It was on her way to work every morning so it all worked out.

besides the bus stop near us was a couple of city blocks away and she didn't want us crossing busy intersections during morning rush.

I was going to bring up the working thing too. If you're a working parent you probably don't have time to walk your kid to the bus stop, wait for the bus and walk home then get in the car to drive to work. A lot are prob dropping their kids off on the way to work. If I was a full time stay at home mom I'd def walk with my kid to the bus stop in good weather. That wasn't an option for us, my son went to private school that didn't have a bus from K-8.

Are there lazy people out there who have no reason other than laziness for dropping their kids off at the bus stop rather than walking? Of course. But none of us know the circumstances of all of those parents dropping them off. I think it's weird to be so judgemental over something like this.

Maybe some, but there's a half mile long line of cars at the elementary school by us at 3 PM. They're waiting for at least a half hour. Maybe they're "working" from home, but the vast majority appear to be moms.

2 elementary threads today is getting depressing.
I lived across the street to my school so of course i just walked over with my cat. it wasmaybe1/8th mile out to the 2 lane road, cross that and I'm at the school.
Ok i'm out of this thread not coming back.

Absolutely infuriating when you get stuck behind one and they're stopping at every 300 feet.
Doesn't even sound like reality.

Here's the circumstance: mom and daughter roll up to bus stop in car, both wait in the car until the bus pulls up, mom let's daughter out of car to go on bus, mom drives 2 houses down the road back home. Saw it again this morning lmao.

You have to shame these parents because it's pathetic culture. It's NPC to the absolute maximum. I'd have assloads of respect for the parents if they cared enough for their child's safety that they walked to the bus stop every morning with their kid - that's not my issue. The absolute laziness maxxxxxxing required to drive is objectively insane, and helps explain why the USA is where it is right now.

I think it's more paranoia than laziness, but I guess the car piece is laziness.

It's so funny because he's actually being serious. Imagine a world where you think walking a mile back and forth to school or a bus stop is something not completely normal.

You're probably brainwashed into helicopter parenting, which ironically hurts your child's development.

Take certain precautions (decent neighborhood, daytime etc.), but let your kid free roam and explore to some degree.

In Texas, I wouldn't doubt if those retards drove to their mailbox. DFS.

In b4 Texans explaining why they do, in fact, drive to their mailbox.

Agreed, OP. I actually bind concrete blocks to my children’s body with barb wired to add more hostility to their lives so they can be real men and not be trans, which is definitely caused by driving kids to the bus stop.

On weekends I wake them up at 5, beat them and call them names. After they’ve done the chores (clean home, cook, do a shift at the local mill because my Republican leaders have made child labor legal again, as God intended), they get to eat some ground beef and drink some beers.

Just lol at pussy children today not working the mines, being driven to the bus stop, having gay loving parents.

I love how everyone thinks walking 150ft to the bus stop is so fuarking brutal..... Like it's some kind of ultra marathon of adversity.

Then everyone is shocked when their kid turns out to be a useless azzhole

Do you even have kids?

I don’t, so I just avoid talking about them. I don’t like them much, so I try to only go to adult places as well. Let people raise their kids how they want. The point of life is to have your kids live better if you have them.

I get what you're saying, because if my sons bus stop was 2 houses down we'd be walking the majority of the time depending on weather. But we don't know anything about that mom and kid, whether there's health issues maybe. I may think it's ridiculous to drive 2 houses down in good weather but I'm not going to be angry that they do.
