I did not know that I was just tanking the arrows lol. Any other tips?? Is it hard to build up cash in this game or whatever the name of currency is here?

Is Tears of the Kingdom the only comparison? I haven't played it but I play a lot of modern games on PC and TW3 especially with the next-gen update doesn't feel clunky at all compared to all the other modern AAA games with sword fighting that I've played, Elden Ring, Ghost of Tsushima, etc included. I seriously doubt TOTK's combat is so much more glorious and smoother than the other modern AAA games with sword fighting.

You guys exaggerate hard af when you say TW3 is clunky

It is pretty hard to build up wealth in this game for sure. just keep selling loot and don't buy new equipment too often.

I completely feel this, but go into the settings and change movement to alternative, it helps tremendously. Give this another shot if you can it’s an incredible g

Casting signs now is so easy. Fighting with melee while mixing signs here and there is so fun and easily the best combat in all of fantasy games out there.

I still think Cyberpunk 2077 is the better CDPR game, but The Witcher 3 is up there in the S Tier class for sure.
I think this is cope lol

Enjoyed the hell out of the game back in the day.. probably my favorite game of all time

But the combat is not good or fluid at all compared to modern games

Tell me you suck at the gameplay and only enjoyed the story without telling me you suck at the gameplay and only enjoyed the story

That's just a vid I found with minimal effort in searching, I've seen much more impressive gameplay than that.

You gonks are prolly just spamming sword attacks and not mixing it up with the usage of signs, bombs, parrying, and side stepping.

Who's a more powerful ally to have? A magical spirit and a bunch of witches or children and some small villages?

Not saying that's the outcome but that's what influenced my choice.

Get used to quick cast, it makes the combat far more fun.

Always kill. If you free it, the first thing it does is go on a murder rampage in the village and kills all the people and children.

Why not compare Mass Effect with Diablo? Both open worlds and after doing some stuff your numbers keep going up.

ER is a great soulslike or whatever game, but TW3 is one of the best RPGs of all time.

Same thing i thought lmao. Artstyle, God tier. Combat and being able to try so many builds, God tier. Bosses, world, lore.... God tier. Everything is so cool, down to the music.

The saddest part for me was at the end of the game, reaching the final boss and that epic Elden Ring theme song starts playing...only to realise I felt absolutely nothing because there was no story and I was only just seeing the final boss of the whole game for the first time. Like who the fuk is this guy? SMH.

There's a crazy sale on steam right now.

Witcher 1 is $1.49
Witcher 2 is $2.99
Witcher 3 is $9.99
Witcher 3 +All DLC $12.49

I've never played the first two, so i'm going to beat this final DLC Blood and Wine, then play the first two games, and then replay Witcher 3 again on NG+

They're gonna remake 1 though so might not be an efficient use of time to play the original now

With that said, the first game is actually really good. Dated combat mechanics, yes. But it's up there with the Witcher 3 when it comes to vibes. I'm happy that I played it before playing 3.

Witcher 2 is my personal favorite but it might just because I love politics. It has a lot of "game of thrones" vibes to it. Its graphics is also still really good and the gameplay isn't that dated.

Lore is different from storytelling.

People wanna know why they're fighting the monsters, especially the bosses. What they did to antagonize the player? Why do they have to "gitgud" aside from showing off to their friends that they're playing a FromSoftware game and that they can roll away from attacks?

In the Witcher, even in the smallest of quests which are the Witcher contracts, there's a story about why you have to go and kill that monster. That's what we mean when we say story. Witcher's lore is a whole another different thing which is also deep and vast.

The Conjunction of Spheres which is how monsters came to be in The Continent which also paved the way to the creation of the order of the Witchers is not the story when you play The Witcher games

The Conjunction of the Spheres is a fukking cool part of the lore and worldbuilding. It's just so....epic. When you reach the end of the game and a second Conjunction happens and all sorts of chit starts spawning into the world, had me on the edge of my seat.

I remember finishing the game at like 6am in the morning, the birds were singing and my eyes were bleary but I couldn't sleep because I'd had such an epic experience.

This speech by Geralt is just awesome too. Makes the game so much more than just make all monsters generic thing that just do evil for no reason:

It was the awesome experience with Witcher that inspired me to begin my own worldbuilding project for what I would hope is an eventual novel.
Back off, Warchild.
