What if there were a law you cannot work… on Sunday’s only? That is going into effect in the US one day.

It may. Blue laws already exist in some parts of the country.

You know those old retired people with nothing to do all day? The ones that are on HOA boards? They go around poking their noses into everyone else’s business.

Now imagine everyone doing that, with youthful energy.

We would invent BS jobs so that the vast majority of people, who don't produce anything, could argue their way into a piece of the pie while either doing nothing, doing nothing productive or actually destroying wealth.

Oh wait

I get jealous of what others have sometimes, but keeping up with everyone is stupid once you realize that lots of billionaires arent happy.

For me its boats. Ill see a shiny new bass boat or something, but then I will realize that id actually prefer my current everyday use boat because for me its better in every aspect that matters to me.

Grass is not always greener. Appreciating what I have has made me far happier overall.

Blue laws have been on the way out for a few decades now. Almost everything was closed on Sunday in Texas until 1985. Now it's just liquor stores and car dealerships (and places that choose to like Chick-Fil-A).

I think that's sad but true. IMO it's mostly weak minds who derive most of their purpose from a job. There are a few exceptions like doctors, scientists, police, firefighters, teachers, and a handful of other professions that qualify if you are among the best in the world at your craft or if it's a personal passion for someone. And hell even the majority of teachers and police are only in that job because they have to be and it's the best option they have. But most of those people would likely end up doing drugs or being pr0n addicts if they didn't have to work.

Then there are the myriad of other jobs out there where you're just a drone working to ultimately make someone else rich. To an intelligent and motivated person, freedom from that would be beneficial. Unfortunately as I said most people are weak minded and I believe your comment would hold up. I just can't comprehend not being able to find something to fill one's day up with and occupy time and better oneself. Even when I wasn't working there were never enough hours in a day. There's always something to read to gain knowledge, something to do/practice to hone a skill or improve one's body, and yes something to watch/listen to/play as entertainment. I genuinely feel bad for people who don't have passions outside of work because they are missing out. And I am genuinely simultaneously happy for and jealous of people who get to earn money actually doing something they are very passionate about.

Society would collapse probably

We have these long-standing settlements without employment we can look to see to see the behaviour that occurs. So I'd recommend looking into homeless encampments for more insight.

I plan to do volunteer work at an animal shelter when I retire.

I think that will be less stressful than tons of instant messages and emails. I don’t think our brains are wired to handle such information overload and that’s why we are seeing more anxiety and depression.

Amazing to see how many people have actually been brain-cucked into the capitalist manifesto

Your value as a human is defined by your productivity?
