Need some Srs feedback brahs.

I was about to buy an Aqua Terra for a daily. Then I learned the 1948 exists… and my dealer still has a new old stock model left.

The gold tone is my father/grandfathers watch that I inherited. You can see why I'd be interested in the 1948.

But, I don't know if it actually would be suitable for a daily. The cost is the same as the AT

I’ve had a friend ask me if it’s a Movado, and when he saw it closer I just told him it’s a Movado knockoff. The truth is most people don’t care, get what you like and enjoy it. There will always be people who think your watch sucks. And frankly, I like all of the watches that are being compared against one another here.

I think I had mentioned to you to buy the older model since that's the one you really liked. I bought my Hulk out of nowhere while helping a friend buy a watch for his wife. Saw it in the display case back when people didn't like it and I saw it and had to buy it. This is back in the good old days when I even got to go home and sleep on it. People said chit about it being all green and not versatile, none of which ever even crossed my mind, and never has. I just love the watch every time I look at it and that's all that matters. Now it's the darling of the Sub lineup. Go figure.

Yup! You did recommend it, and I’m glad you did. I knew it was what I wanted, but the new model, and new movement with better stats had me second guessing myself. Sitting here today, I’m 350% sure I made the right choice. It just suits me better. Strong wizard with the hulk. Good eye for a great piece.

Went into the AD in my old town in upstate NY that got me the AK. Didnt plan on going in, but the milgauss in the display case facing outside caught my eye hard. Then noticed the "exhibition only" label in the middle of the display. Figured i'd walk in and chat it up. They had just about every hot model you could think of in the case, with the same label. Batman, sub, couple of DJ41s, a black exp 2, and even a blue skyD.

Man, all I see in my area are diamond encrusted bezel datejusts (many with diamond markers) sold by grey market dealers, and like 1 white/polar explorer 2 at the authorized dealer. I’d buy one of the diamond ones, but I’d need a big diamond engagement to match it with.

Yeah it's just making me "over it" right now. Funny enough i follow a couple of grey's and see the prices definitely coming back down. Not enough for my taste, but it's still progress. One of them had a Batman for sale in the 18k range, which i havent seen in maybe a year plus.

Eh. Saratoga is pretty rural 1 mile outside of downtown. lol. I actually try not to go in there because i cant go in there "regularly" and chat them up anymore. No way im staying on their good list.
