Homeowners won't touch it where it was from rains / flooding (I don't have specific flood insurance)
had probably 10+ pedals on my board, lots of MXRs, had a sweet fullertone drive that I loved, also really bummed about losing my looper mostly due to all the stuff I had saved on there.
Thankfully the 12 string is the only one that seems to be in danger of not making it, the other 13 seem to be GTG

And I know "put 'em in a bag of rice" is a joke, but that actually works for absorbing moisture (saved a phone dropped in the toilet once). Ziploc bag with some rice might help with sucking moisture out.
For the Tele and acoustic...don't know...maybe they're ok. Wash the metal parts with alcohol, try to prevent corrosion, and then dry them out as well as you can. Tele might be ok after drying (though don't know what happens to wax potting in the pickups)...not sure about the acoustic.
Sorry to hear that this happened...hopefully you can recover everything.

Posted about a modded 7-string JPX a few pages back... the seller was very informative and the price was about the same as ordering a brand new import, so I figured I'd take a chance on it. Finally arrived today.
Plays better than expected tbh. I hate glossy poly necks but it was modded well enough that it plays very smooth but doesn't feel sticky. I still prefer my other JP with the gunstock oil finish but this is almost as good and I wouldn't have bought this guitar without the refinish (not just because it would've been way more expensive lul). The aftermarket pickups are fine as well, they're from Guitarmory and sound similar to the other sets I had on extended range guitars (would compare to SD Pegasus/Sentient). No need to swap them, at least for now.
Otherwise, damn this is a beauty. I like how light it is for a 7-string, easy to be handled but not too unbalanced to neck dive like a Gibson SG. Despite having some mileage on it the fretboard is still perfect. Neck is thin enough for my small hands but not a toothpick at all - a bit more shoulder than Schecter's Ultra Thin profile but not as flat and wide as a modern Ibanez/Jackson and a bit slimmer than a Thin U ESP. Would've maybe wished it to be a bit thinner overall but still plenty comfortable. Trem works great as you'd expect on a JP. And I guess I'll need to spend some time trying to coax some Piezo tones out of this guy.
All in all, pretty ****ing sweet. Guess I'm a full fledged Music Man fanboy now.

Can any of you guys recommend me what I need for a looper set up? I'm a complete noob when it comes to pretty much anything outside of actually playing or setting up an acoustic.

Most seem to believe it's a Reverend but my Ibanez senses are tingling. I think it's an AZ neck only with quartersawn maple and a square heel. He'd be a great addition to the roster. Many firmly entrenched in the Fender-Gibson camp seem to believe you can't get classic/great tones out of anything else which is obviously garbage. Andy Timmons + AT100 with Dimarzios says it all.

Flood update:
all my guitars seem to be fine with the only wild card being my Dean 12 string that was submerged for an extend time. It's dry now, but the neck is bowed like a mofo. Got some sweet 3/4" action on the high frets. I'm sure the electronics are fukked too (had a built in tuner and, EQ and junk)
Looks like the only pedal on my board that survived is my MXR flanger and the channel switch for the big marshall.
Out of the entire board, I'm missing the hell out of my looper the most

As for the Josh Smith signature guitar he's revealing tomorrow it's surely an LA Custom Shop build so he probably asked for no logo on the neck plate for a slow reveal online and when it goes into production some specs might change to maximize sales but I doubt he'd want that Super AANJ. Andy Timmons still plays a prototype Ibanez built him nearly 30 years ago and since the 90s Vai has mainly played a couple of white JEMs that were pieced together.

Thick calluses are a real problem. They catch on strings when bending and pulling off, they develop deep grooves making it harder to cleanly fret a note, and worst of all they tear.

Announces new guitar tomorrow. Obviously would happily play the rest of his career with his trusty Chapin Tele but this is a big opportunity especially at a time when gigs are on hold. Very happy for him.
