Easy money getting ready to disappear. Who cares about this little dip if it'll force lazy slobs back to work and re-legitimize our economy. There needs to be a focus on how to reign in inflation before it gets out of hand in a year or 2(ending unemployment bonus would be one of those steps). Dems are doing everything in their power to keep people from going back to work because government dole is somehow better than earning a living. If you have ever had the pleasure of visiting on a native American reservation you'll know how well giving everyone government money works.

CI has been pretty solid for me and it still has an eps of only 11.

Might be worth a look for someone pulling $ out of tech and looking where to put it.

Maybe I'm not aware, but how is disrupting the pipeline from the refineries to the pump going to drive up the price of oil? If the end product doesn't make it to the customer, in theory, the refineries see a back up of product and slow production. Meaning they don't need as much oil to process. So wouldn't that cause a short-term drop in demand for crude and hence a drop in price? Or do you figure from there, drillers cut back on their production, creating a shortage when the pipelines are back up and the end product starts flowing again?

Gasoline futures were slightly higher early Monday afternoon on Wall Street, after spiking to their highest level in around three years during overnight trading.

“The initial price movement was a knee-jerk reaction, expecting severe or prolonged impacts to gasoline, and heating oil and other product supply,” said Darwei Kung, head of commodities at DWS Group. “I think people are looking at the situation right now, and understanding that the disruption probably is not nearly as severe as the initial knee-jerk reaction would imply.”

The pipeline is a critical part of U.S. petroleum infrastructure, transporting around 2.5 million barrels per day of gasoline, diesel fuel, heating oil and jet fuel. The pipeline encompasses more than 5,500 miles and carries nearly half of the East Coast’s fuel supply. The system also provides fuel for airports, including in Atlanta and Baltimore.

I'm confused because we're talking about two different products. The disruption affects the end product (gasoline) and no argument we're seeing the price rise on that, but the only affect to the start product (crude) is a backup of supply at the refinery. How is Russia going to benefit from crude if this ends up causing a dip in demand until the refineries get the gasoline out to the customers?

If Russian hackers succeeded in taking down pipeline for long time.

What would US do but dip into reserves?

Russia and other could increase production to meet demand supply.
