tradie would win the fight but not the war. the stemmie would go home butthurt and corroborate with all of his other butthurt stemmy friends and invent the atomic bomb and then retaliate against the tradies (and take out the entire city along with them)

Tradies might win the battle, but ultimately they would get fired for not being able to perform essential job functions due to non-workplace-related injuries.

Brahs in 'Murica seem to hate on tradies, but I've never understood why. Here are some pros:

-Hard work that can really humble you
-Good pay
-No college debt
-Learn useful skills
-Allows people to succeed that might otherwise not

They are mad we make more money then them.
I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time; never. These allegations are false. And I need to go back to work for the American people. Thank you.

Who? You mentioned America in the OP which makes me think you're not from here.

I've lived here for 35 years and I've never heard people make fun of people who work a trade, if we're talking about traditional trades like plumber, carpenter, metal worker or whatever.

If you're talking about working in fast food or something, yeah people poke fun of those kinds of jobs. But mostly people just say, "well at least he/she has a job."

So again, you're letting misc ****s influence your thinking.

For once in a tradie thread I will be serious because you used the srs tag (even if you somehow misspelled it).

There is nothing wrong with it. It's an inside joke and running gag among most miscers, and one that I admittedly partake and find great amusement in. Although there are always some butthurt *******s who actually start getting heated up because they literally think miscers spit on tradies while wearing suits and labcoats.

If we go back throughout human history, what we will find is that it is only up until relatively recent times where uncoordinated *******s could get by through only use of their mind. Computer programmers, accountants, etc. For the majority of human history (which dates back 200 000 years), human brains have evolved in conjunction with their hand eye coordination. A human had to have been able to show good depth perception, spacial awareness, and dexterity for whatever reasons be it hunting or building.

Because of this, I believe all humans have an innate connection to physical work. It's something so deeply hardwired into our human nature to connect our bodies with our minds.

The reason why in general blue collar work is less respected than white collar work is because humans do not think about 200 000 years ago. They think about recent times and for the past few hundred years or so (maybe more), physical labor has been the work of slaves, impoverished, and generally lower class workers. Why would a prince or king subject himself to countless hours of backbreaking toil in the hot sun and dirt? He wouldn't, it would be a job for a slave or lower class incel.

Fast forward to more recent times and the stigma still remains. In an evolved world where humans can survive merely through using their brains, you are seen as having lower intelligence if you have to rely on your body to make money instead.

Physical work will always have tougher conditions than an air-conditioned office. People will assume that if you are a tradie it is because you were unable to use your mind because who wouldn't want to sit in an office instead of breaking their back? (of course that is a stereotype). Also in general, the elite of the elite made money through their mind. You will never find a billionaire tradesman. The billionaire tradesman used his mind and started his own company and that is what generates the billions.

And yeah there's of course some stuff where dropouts could become tradesmen but an accountant, lawyer, doctor, engineer, etc would have had to have graduated from uni showing at least some sort of baseline intelligence/mental capability.
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

Most tradies haven't even finished high school. Also they have low iq usually, the tradies that make money are the ones who own companies which most tradies don't.

Trades also require you to use your body in a unhealthy way and you come back home and just want to sleep = no life.

I don't understand why people care so much about this chit. A job is a job. You're still stuck in the rat race. Everyone is trying to make their hustle. Unless you own your own business or you got a job, like an actor or musician, that pays millions, you haven't made it yet, as far as I can tell.

If you were an independent tradie that showed up for estimates and always did a good job you'd be a millionaire.

I've been on both sides of the fence. They both have their pros and cons.

At the end of the day, Work is work. Do you want to always be aware that youre at a place you dont really want to be at but are forced to be? Or do you want to be distracted from the realization that youre working?

In an office setting, That little clock haunts you. You watch minutes slowly tick away until your shift is over then you have to do the same thing the next morning, over and over again for the next several decades.

In a trade setting, There has been so many times where i looked at a clock and was like "Wow, My shift is over already?".

You need to have a diploma to get into the vast majority of apprenticeships.

When you say all day, it is literally ALL DAY. Doctors are always on call. I work midnight shift at a hospital, and the doctors are constantly getting paged at 3, 4 in the morning after having worked all day. They also go through about 8 years of school, residencies, fellowships, etc. Lots of debt. Sure, they make a lot, but, if you compare on the hours worked, tradies (specifically commercial divers near the Gulf of Mexico) can make just as much, if not more.

My argument wasn't about money made exactly, just a small example.

Also not all doctors work in hospitals, many work in their own clinics and have their own schedules, not getting paged or anything.

My family is full of doctors and they barely do chit.

Because tradies don't have a college education. They are viewed as people who were too stupid for college.

Additionally, a lot of shady characters do trades.

Cope? It's a JOB. You're still in the rat race. You're not making bank. People who are doctors, lawyers, etc. are not living the good life they're just working just as hard and buying even bigger doodads and liabilities. You haven't made it until you actually have assets and are financially free.
