Numbers are all well and good when you're going against someone with the same level of tech...like Ukraine.

But they'd never be able to do much against the likes of the US (better tech), or China (more numbers) in a conventional war. So really they're down to picking on old eastern bloc backwaters. They could probably do something against a few European countries that have neglected keeping their own stuff up to date assuming the US wasn't standing behind them. Which is why countries like Germany are now scrambling to get some defense spending going again.
Pretty much. Russia saw the technology advantage they had over Ukraine and what they could get away with. Those old soviet strategies still work in this situation.

No good long range missiles ; they have about 90 Tochka-U with range about 120 km and its over 500 km to Moscow from Ukr territory

They hit an airbase in Rus with some Tochkas a few days ago

This latter idea of special status for the GDR territory was codified in the final German unification treaty signed on September 12, 1990, by the Two-Plus-Four foreign ministers (see Document 25). The former idea about “closer to the Soviet borders” is written down not in treaties but in multiple memoranda of conversation between the Soviets and the highest-level Western interlocutors (Genscher, Kohl, Baker,Gates, Bush, Mitterrand, Thatcher, Major, Woerner, and others) offering assurances throughout 1990 and into 1991 about protecting Soviet security interests and including the USSR in new European security structures. The two issues were related but not the same. Subsequent analysis sometimes conflated the two and argued that the discussion did not involve all of Europe. The documents published below show clearly that it did.
is that bill gates in on nato talk in the 90's or someone else?

I saw an article today saying Ukraine was much too late in going about arming their citizens and how they should have done it long ago and with lots more guns, like Finland does. From the MSM.

You'd need a strongman to deadlift the irony.

After decades of this bullchit, they finally drew the line at Ukraine and warned the US not to cross it, which the US did, for absolutely no legitimate reason, and here we are.
Okay i just did, where exactly does it mention anything about nato assuring ussr/russia of any changes to nato policy about open door?

And you are aware that i did post the transcript of the interview gorbachev did on russia media television where he stated that no such promise was made? Are you sayinf gorbachev was lying?

Right so a random US internal document noting russian worries about nato expansion means that a promise was given to them for a change in nato policy?

I read through the 3 documents you mentioned. Nothing about a promise made...

Gorbachev PUBLICLY STATED that NO talks were had on RUSSIAN TV!

Youre a fuking clown lmao. Go get some therapy.

Srs question. I haven't been around or watched news.

Has it gotten bad yet?

Are we in the phase of "he's killing innocent civilians" after showing all the armed grannies, grandpa's, and children armed and "ready to fight" who we armed up?

Serious question. We reached that point?

We just seen the aftermath of bombing Kharkiv government building and the radio tower in Kiev, indeed killing innocent civilians. These weren't armed though.
