No it wouldn't. It would just be different. And since "Gun Control" specifically is a hot political debate, instead of violence or mental health... People would blame the guns since they have a target. Unlike now where they are just like "Oh well cant stop all the violence."

Fixed above to show how moronic your logic is. This is coming from someone who’s probably never touched a firearm and wants to give his input on a topic he knows nothing about.

So you are one of those people that think the ar15 is some sorta machine gun arent you? Its a semi automatic. I'd actually argue that bolt action is more lethal. Something like a 30/06 is accurate from a decent distance. Also the fact that it will take down a Grizzly Bear says something. If dude was sitting across the street pointed at a door one shot would kill multiple people. It will also penetrate most body armor..

People in the UK aren't much more mentally healthy than the USA. Trust me brah.

If it were purely down to mental health, then British people would also be trying to invent alternative ways to mass-slaughter people due to no access to guns.

The murder rate in England spiked up after handguns were outlawed.

Death toll with bombs will usually be higher too and doesnt force the person to see people dying. A gun you see what you are doing and hopefully something clicks and you either stop or kill yourself and its over. Once the bomb goes off its over. In situation like this it also makes it more difficult to actually save the students since if a bomb goes off the swat wont just be running in there since they dont know what else is planted.

Guns are banned in France, aren't they? And the Bataclan/Charlie Hebdo chit still happened. If criminals really want their firearms, they'll get them. Period. Why in the hell does nobody ever address places like Chicago? Where it's almost impossible for an average citizen to legally own a firearm, but shootings happen all the time on the South and West ends. Chicago, itself is practically a "gun-free zone," but all the gangs get their guns, regardless.

I like how people only give a chit about gun control when it spills in suburbia, when in reality, shootings have been happening in our inner-cities for decades. And gun control won't fix that. Fully automatic AK-47s, Mac-10s, etc. are illegal, but gangs down in Watts, Compton and Inglewood have those lying around their homes. Can I get them? Nope. It's against the law, so stores won't carry them. But can they get them? Yeah, they can because they don't walk into to stores, buy them, then wait for their background checks. If they want them, they find a black market dealer and get them. Gun control fuks regular people, but does nothing to stop criminals from acquiring them.

Ah right. You want guns so are OK with the murders. You "expect" it. How empowering.

I guess that settles it then.

Murder rates in England are miniscule compared to the USA's. Our cops don't carry guns for a reason they don't need them. We have armed police response of course but England doesn't have a gun culture.

I understand yous need guns it's different over there you're not as chilled but I don't understand why you need assault rifles and smoke grenades etc. Surely a handgun or a bolt action rifle's enough I don't think semi or fullys should be available to the public.

Look at it on a percentage basis. The UK has 65 million people. The US has 300 million people. But let’s not let facts cloud our feelz amirite?

Let’s also not forget most murders in the US are gang violence. If you look at Chicago alone (strictest gun laws in the country) they account for the most murders.

Yeah it's always the shocking stuff that gets the attention. Nobody is shocked by drive-by shootings in Chicago anymore.

I respect our bros in the UK and Australia but our gang culture is so radically different over here, you can't really compare our cultures and attitudes towards firearms with them. There has been mass shootings in the UK too since the outlaw, I'm not saying they don't happen, but they would be a lot more frequent if guns were legal. That's all I'm saying.

I've already stated that 1300 children get shot to death in the USA per year, that includes the inner-cities.

I'm not saying that strict gun control would work perfectly if it were to be brought in now (because everything is so messed up) but the system isseverely flawedand I feel like people are in extreme denial about it and pretending it's all OK.

Just because youwantguns, doesn't make it all OK.

Are you really using population numbers to prove your point? Do you really think I don't know that (per head) the USA is still more violent than the UK?

Also, is Chicago not in the USA? What is your point?

So why don't the criminals get guns illegally in the UK more often then? Trust me, there are plenty of mentally ill criminals in Scotland, but we haven't had a mass shooting since 1996. Why hasn't it happened since?

Chicago already implements MANY if not EVERYTHING your asking. And they are a shining example of why what your saying DOES NOT WORK.

What do you not understand about that? Every example of trying what your saying in this country is a literal dumpster fire.

And you want us to keep trying what your saying?

Did he actually have smoke grenades or just smoke bombs? I know a few local photographers that have smoke bombs for some of their shoots. Not very hard to get and if they were outlawed it wouldnt be hard to just make one yourself..

I always lol at threads like this after another shooting happens in the US. The same **** is said over and over again. There is a reason America is the only first world country where this happens so regularly

This country's built on rebellion. Our culture's different, our backgrounds are different, our values are different, our attitudes are different, etc. There's a reason why I don't ever make country comparisons. What works here won't necessarily work there, and what works there won't necessarily work here. That's just the way it is.

Yea because we have gun free zones and this is where it always happens. It’s sad. The solution is to remove gun free zones. That way citizens can legally protect themselves rather than be fish in a barrel. The areas with the most guns and most CCW holders has the lowest gun violence. Hmm.

I've said a few posts up that I don't believe that bringing in strict gun control now will make everyone safe, because the entire country is so fukked up now. Some things are beyond help and I think the USA is hanging off the cliff.

But i'm saying can you notat least recognisethat it's fukked up? The denial is staggering

I understand yous need guns it's different over there you're not as chilled but I don't understand why you need assault rifles and smoke grenades etc. Surely a handgun or a bolt action rifle's enough I don't think semi or fullys should be available to the public.
Full autos definitely aren't. However it's important that the public be on more equal footing against threats. There's many cases of people using the same weapons to defend their families or themselves.

There should be a more grass roots approach that involves education and monitoring of at risk individuals. There's been a few spree shooting suspects who displayed warning signs but were not called out. There's also been many who were thwarted during the spree shooting schemes, but you never hear about them. IMO, putting legal firearm owners at a disadvantage against foes who can easily obtain higher powered weaponry is a bad choice.

If emotional stories are all you react to, I want you to picture a scenario where that 15 year old in the story above had only a bolt action rifle, and the intruders overpower him with superior weaponry and murder him and his 12 year old sister. But no media outlet would advocate that they should have had access to the same weapons - they'll just suggest more gun control is needed which doesn't affect the criminals whatsoever (unless they're caught with the weapon).
