Yes theres sort of some positive things i took from the sit down i had with managment.

1. I wasnt escorted out by LP

2. His tone of voice was kinda of assuring me. Said he knows im a good employee with good work ethic. Hes forced to do this. Then he gave me steps on what to do with the union, almost as if he was telling me dont panic etc...

Go in with a game plan. Have some bullet points written down of what you want to say. Both for your union rep tomorrow, and with the panel next week.

Take some of the advice already mentioned in this thread. Tell them you've been dealing with an extremely stressful family situation, that you're on good terms with coworker who you were supposedly harassing. Tell them it was good-natured ribbing, and there was no ill will, and you thought it was mutually understood. Nevertheless, it will never happen again and you apologize profusely and you will seek counseling to remedy the stress you've been dealing with.

Edit: And stress the 19 years of zero disciplinary action.

I got fired from a job in early 2007. I was writing stupid messages on customer accounts. Looking back, I don't even know why I did it. 100% my bad anyway. I did get another job only weeks later, but the job market was a different ball game back then...and the job was minimum wage office serf. Sometimes beggars can't be choosers though.
