I never said that. It's a bit more nuanced. Yes, the ayatollah did declare nuclear weapons to be against islam, but hey have enriched uranium past the civilian threshold. The question is, what is their intent and why did they do that? The Zionist crowd will say it's because they intend to build a nuclear weapon. Others, from the perspective of analyzing a state actor from a strategic standpoint, will say that they are using the enriching uranium as a bargaining chip because of the threat of regime change an external attack. Neither side trust the other and both sides are incentivized to maximize their leverage. That's why we are where we are now. Nobody is right or wrong and nobody has enshrined rights - whether it's israel "right to exist" or Iran's right to have a nuclear weapon. Power always decides the answer to these questions, not morality.

Now that Israel has their sights set on Lebanon and has basically had permission to do whatever they want so far, they aren't going to back off. They want to take over the entire region, that's been their goal all along.

I don’t expect Iran to broadcast their plans or be truthful. Obviously they are going to do what is in their own best interests.

Because its an absolute shit deal but he needs to sell it as a win to make it stop. We could have had a much better deal 2 months ago if the israel first boomers didnt sabotage it

He is sending Vance around to do media damage control and take all the hard questions because he knows he would lose it trying to handle it himself. I wouldn't have believed this at the start of his second term, but I have genuine worry that he isn't going to make it another 2 years to complete his second term.
