fuark. A zero risk investment for the woman based on how courts work in the 21st century.

I guess it would be easy for a girl to dump a guy who won't sign the contract.... in exchange for a guy beta enough to sign it.

Lol! Fukin millenials couldn't learn a lesson from their parents.

Some people need to stick their hand in the fire to find out that it burns.

Other than taxes there isn't any benefits. You can do the same stuff before you were married

Obviously you're just a bitch and cannot man up. Who gives a fuk IF she cheats, IF she leaves, IF you lose your money.
Alpha is learning to rebuild, beta is letting fear stop you from experiencing.
I'm inclined to agree with this as well though. This guy will be making a thread a year from now saying how he ****ed up.

Good luck being in a serious relationship with a girl when she knows you don't want to get married, in many places if you live together long enough you are considered married (but slightly different) anyways.

You will get older, your looks will start to fade.

Friends of yours will get married, have children and stop hanging out with you.

You will have no one but yourself. You will be that creepy old loner that no body knows, and worst of all you will die alone (maybe with your brothers / sisters by your side, because your parents will obviously be dead).
I've seen lots of ppl die. Both alone and surrounded by family. The difference seems pretty minuscule to me. Both cases end very, very badly.

I'm gonna ask my girl to marry me in the next few months because I want to be a father.

I figure creating life with a person is a far bigger responsibility than potentially losing half my money. She'll carry my kid in her belly for 9 months, I'll drop 50k on a dumb ceremony that she can fap over w/ her girlfriends on instagram.

Fair trade.

Honestly though if she does divorce me and tries to take more than 25% of my assets and/or take the kids she'll find herself in the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, so it's not that great of a risk.

I've always wanted to see how good of a Dexter impression I can do. I win either way.

A pretty good deal! For a man, I think the main benefit is the final one - companionship into old age. Plus, obviously exclusive access to her eggs and offspring.

Most single guys who are over 35 or so live a fairly pathetic life. All their friends are busy with their families while these guys sit around in their underwear eating pork and beans. These are the guys sitting alone at the bar with a beer belly eating fried chicken wings on Friday night.

for everything I say against marriage, one that works (lmao) is a very good experience indeed. Only made better by having a child who is similarly loyal and loving.

But this shiit is a fairy tale, and no marriage, civil partnership, whatever the fuk, ever lasts. Ever. The marriage IS the honeymoon. And soon enough, that shiit comes to an end. The same goes for relationships. I see marriages and relationships as equivalent to constantly going on crack - you're craving this love and attention that you KNOW runs out eventually. And being dependent on something other than food, water and other basic survival needs is just a joke to me. It's cool to have it for some time. But you shouldn't need it. You shouldn't build your life and identity as a person around it, and around someone else. Women are a horrible thing to invest in because of how they operate almost collectively.

And not all kids stay loyal to their parents till death.

There does come a stage when clubs and bars and new people gets a little repetitive and empty and you think wtf is next?

If you're lucky it coincides with a point where you've achieved at work

Then you wonder what the next challenge is. That's when the thought of family starts IMHO and that's probably when your idea of the perfect partner starts to change and marriage starts to be a consideration

But up till that point it's a bit of a hell no wont go there gonna keep going till I'm ded

Marriage is for the weak who aren't comfortable enough with themselves and need someone else to make their life feel substantial
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

...huh? Yeah, a few (no ****).

The problem here is investment. For a marriage to work, you need to put ALL of your emotional chips in. It's a double edged sword. With it, you can take on the world. But it can just as easily be turned against you, and cut you down to nothing.

We're all dead anyway though, so if there's any reason you should "gamble", it should be for this fact. But I see it as needless torture before death.

Some people have been indoctrinated to believe that it is required to let the government approve and arbitrate your relationship to have a family. That's basically how marriage survives.

I used to feel that way.

Being the captain of the ship, being part of a team w/ a woman, creating new life...all sounds pretty fun and exciting to me at this point.

I never thought I'd say that.

ppl change breh.

The actual documented marriage part is dumb of course but starting a family sounds great.

No I got married because I was ready to, because the person I was with made me better and stronger, because we wanted a new experience and a family, because I'd achieved what I wanted professionally at that stage and was happy with the oats I had already sowed

LDAR is a weak concept for weak-minded folk

Life doesn't stop just because you reach a certain age, or life stage, life doesn't get worse it just changes ..and thank fuk for that

I approach everything in the most logical manner possible. When it comes to marriage, it just boils down to going into something that has already ended on the simple fact that you can't control the other person's feelings or your own. Life is like this constant torture leading up to death. When you get married, you get some brief respite from it. But as soon as you get back to the torture, you are hit a million times harder than you were before, to the point that the torture is more agonising that whatever pleasure you got from the little rest was. It's pointless, and just makes your time here more difficult that it would otherwise have been.

You can get short bursts of rest, but you won't be so invested that you forget what the truth really is.

These are the only 2 things you mentioned that you actually gain with marrying her. Not trying to dissuade you like many in the thread would, if you want to marry her do it. But a lot of those things you're describing you currently have with her already and marrying her wouldn't change that. If anything it would incentivize her to discontinue those things, because you're now socially and legally obligated to her regardless of if she plays video games or lifts with you.

there isnt. the cost of a divorce will always be worse than the benefit of the marriage. Cost-Benefit analysis is a standard for being a man.

I am getting married in less than two months. She is probably the best person I have ever known. Raised properly, highly educated (PHD), non sloot, beautiful, doesn't party (actually get mad at my drinking). Here parents are still together and been married for 40 years, so she has seen marriage isn't all sunshine and rainbows.

I cannot imagine my life without her at this point. I would have never gotten married if she weren't amazing and perfect for me. I love my woman and while I am not a big fan of the binding contract, it's something plenty of other men would offer her and I am not about to lose her over something that fukking petty.

First, congrats on finding such a great chick.
Second, it sounds like she actually brings more than just looks to the table. If a chick is actually career oriented and can bring as much or more to the table as you, it's the only way I would say go for it. If you were the gravy train, I would lol at you.

Yeah, I took the teachings of misc to heart but left all the hate and cry baby FA, all girls are whores nonsense out. There are things you can learn from good posters on here, but most of these *******s are just big babies crying about money and cars and dink size.

If you love a woman and her earning potential is as good or greater than yours, she is wife material. If you fall in love with a hair stylist....jakes on you.

Pepper your life savings.
