Really enjoyed Boston back in 2013. Lots of history, pride and great seafood.

Ever heard of the Seattle Freeze? Well, apparently Boston has that as well if you're not originally from there and/or MA. I didn't get that sense, but who knows.

I used to wanna move up north, but more and more in glad I stayed in the southeast. Keep hearing about crap weather, crap standard of living, overpopulated, dirty, etc in all the major NE cities. Fun to visit but I now wouldn't move up to NYC or Boston unless I was ballin wealthy.

Otherwise happy living in RDU and may consider TX

Well, except for your assertion that NYC chits all over Boston, all your points are indeed correct. It's a weird town if you were expecting to go there as an out-of-towner and actually have fun; the entire city is like one big private club where you have to be a member to gain access to the VIP Lounge. There's some good chit to do in and around Boston, but you have to be on the inside to find it.

Our public transportation system currently sucks royally. 2nd busiest in the country, but it catches on fire practically everyday, constant broken trains, single-tracking, incompetent employees, and it is about to undergo a major year log repair process, shutting down many segments for weeks at a time.

And yes, traffic absolutely sucks here. Arguably the worst in the country.

But it is a pretty nice city. Unique with its European/Parisian design and of course the monuments and museums. It's building up crazy fast too, so neighborhoods that a few years ago were ghettos are now throwing up luxury apartments and shops.

And yes, it's very expensive. Probably 3rd most expensive city now after San Fran and NYC.

We have at least 4 fires on the Metro every week right now, often with delays of 45 mins, single-tracking, offloading due to broken doors, overcrowded platforms. Metro is absolute crap, which is why it's going through a major repair process over the next year. Feds threatened to shut the entire thing down it's so bad.

Fuk that shiit. How can public transportation be bad when the traffic is so bad? I'm coming from Berkeley area where we have BART and its so convenient. I'm guessing driving is pretty much a necessity there especially for students? Also for crime, if its not bad then why is it ranked worse than 97% of cities in the country? Is crime just concentrated in one small area where people try to stay away from?
