Trying to get big legs is stupid unless you plan on competing on stage, or you are targeting leg strength for a very specific reason, such as to address a weakness in deadlifts. That said 99% of people have nothing to gain from massive quads but will suffer the inconveniences of rubbing thighs and difficulty finding pants that fit properly.

The above doesn't apply to cavs obviously and most people could do well to hit them to an extent.

I love the soreness, just hate when my legs start to shake uncontrollably when in a squat position. I try to lower myself onto the toilet and just fall down. Feels good though.

Just LMAO So whats the point of getting anything big? With your logic is it going to be an "inconvenience" when your lats rub on your triceps and you cant find
shirts that fit properly?

8 years on and I still don't enjoy the leg DOMS. Fukin sucks yo. Everything else feels good man, but legs... fuark. Gotta do it though otherwise you'll look like a right twat with no legs fgt

This is why I always squat 2x week. 1x a week = always soreness. 2x week = no soreness.

I prefer to squat on a Tuesday and then front squat and deadlift on a Friday.

This. You can literally do 5x5 on squats and 5x5 on deadlifts 2x per week mixed in with a bit of calf work and legs will never get sore and you can still see gains. Legs are literally the easiest muscle group to train as long as you follow a simple formula. 2x per week as evenly spaced as possible. Don't do a chit-ton of unnecessary volume. Stretches before and Stretches + foam rolling after. You can literally spend about 20-30 minutes training and 15-20 minutes stretching and your golden.

I do either legs/abs if in the gym or legs/cardio if I'm not. If legs/cardio I go to a local HS when its closed and do 100 yard sprints on the football field and/or run the track/stadiums. Whats funny is you can get a better leg workout on a stadium then in a gym. Or on a track for that matter. I hate ****s who complain about leg day like its cool. Its all too popular these days. Hurr durr leg day. If your legs get sore you're not conditioned and are out of shape.

What does "correlate over" even mean?

That's bull****. You're sore because you don't train it often enough. Like others have already said, increasing frequency is the best way to prevent soreness, and soreness itself has nothing to do with how good you trained that part.

Squats:
Warm up set
4X Heavy sets (up to 10 reps)

Final Set Good mornings
4Xsets

(i do calves on other days)

I thought that isometric stretches were useless, but dynamic stretches were beneficial because it warms the muscle up for the specific movements it'll soon be executing.

My problem is not the soreness, it's that when it comes time to work out legs the entire process itself can just be tedious.

Leg day goes something like:

- Find a free squat rack, rack all the plates on and off of it, squat until legs feel jello-ish.

- Find a leg press machine, take 5 minutes to rack all the plates on each side, press press press, legs are heavy now.

- Wait 10 minutes for a hamstring or extension machine to become free because some dumb bish in pink spandex is doing 40 reps with 10 pounds while she plays with her phone.

- Oh wait, forgot about calves! Even though I'm exhausted, let me take the time to work on these annoying muscles that barely respond to exercise.

Great, now I'm exhausted and just wanna go home and lay down.

Wake up the next day and can't walk down the steps.

Yay can't wait til next leg day!

Just adding in to the slight off-topic discussion going. I don't know how people are getting so much out of High Volume workouts, kind of envious of you guys. I switch back and forth every once in a long while and I can only seem to pack on size when I'm really loading up the weight for low reps.

One power, one hypertrophy workout a week for me.

I find that a good 45-60 minutes of lighter cardio the day after really helps recover and I'm basically 100% the day after that, when I wasn't doing this cardio I would still be sore 2-3 days after. Active recovery is real.
