Although a great positive, you mention that this game is helping in dealing with some of the problems we face today as a society, and as a whole. The issue is that we find ourselves in that state to begin with, which in itself, should tell you exactly where we will head once the novelty of this game wears thin.

This game seems to have had a big impact, and I imagine it will still have an impact once the hype dies, but by no means will it fix a lot of these issues, or deal with them at the root of the problem. As with most things these days, the novelty and popularity will fade. Whether it will be in a month or two's time, or a year or two. It will happen. What you're seeing and experiencing right now is not a realistic indication of where this is going. It's simply the nature of these things.

Of course, I, and others, may be wrong, but generally speaking, we will have to wait and see when everything settles down to some normal baseline. I personally don't think the hype will carry this game, and make it last that long. Novelty will wear out thin at some point, and it will start to tail off/drop off. True fans/die-hards of the game will remain, but the general average person who is not an insane player will simply play this game on a whim or when out with friends/hiking/walking about, but not actively seek things out.

And I think that's where it will end up, as an activity you do from time to time, incorporated into your day or some of your weekly activities. But here's to hoping it helps bring more people together and engages people to communicate with one another.

There's a group of people here that are charging $30 an hour for "Pokemon Go Tours." Basically they drive around town going 10 mph between pokestops so you can collect pokemon, get items, etc. while adding to distance traveled for your eggs.

Anyone else think this game is boring as fuk (srs)?

You can barely do anything with the Pokemon you catch and the leveling system is way too primitive.

We just rode around my GFs hometown past midnight and saw dozens of cars and kids clearly roaming around playing Pokemon. It's a town of only like 3-5k I think, so that's a lot of people to be out past midnight wandering the streets.

This is how you destroy a society. The Jews are doing a good job getting Nintendo to make this game.

What if there was a major attack all of a sudden or a shooting?

Brb bunch of low test nerds couldn't care less about what's going on around them cause too busy looking at their phones finding the next Pokemon so they end up getting shot.

I look at this as a game where it is only popular in the first few weeks because after that anyone who is new will have a tough time and won't want to play. More of a game where it's insanely popular because if you fall behind it's hard to get back up.

not available in my location too but once I go to america and get it, I'll probably be too depressed seeing everyone near max level to even play

I'm enjoying the game in my free time and while I think it is revolutionary and has boundless potential, I tend to agree with this statement. The game just has way to little content to stick around for long.

Bit of both, grass/leaves appear on your screen if a pokemon is near, so walking towards that itll start to get closer and then eventually appear

This post is moronic. People arent "making friends" because they genuinely like each other, they are doing it because they are being rewarded with a fake pokeman in their collection. Take away "the prize" and you are back to square one, this doesnt help society.
