I noticed that mainly in math. Everything else like English, psychology, science, etc wasn't really a problem and I wouldn't have to study for. Although completely agree with the last sentence. AP bio was boring as shiit and I didn't retain much of anything from that class. then when I started getting into nutrition and whatnot I was reading over the exact same shiit on the Internet and could remember it just fine.
Never got nervous or anything, my mind just wonders.

I got a 26. My wife got a 28. I didn't even read the questions outside of the math and science parts. Reading comprehension isn't one of my strengths.

A woman allegedly shot her husband several times Tuesday morning before calling 911 to report that she had killed him, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said. Then she fatally shot herself.

But as deputies rushed to the Centennial home she was calling from, the husband was able to reach emergency dispatchers and tell them that he was still alive, according to authorities. Julie Brooks, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office, said the woman called 911 about 11:30 a.m. and that the husband spoke to dispatchers moments later.

Isn't it great to be young, stupid . . . and get away with it? That could have gone SO wrong. I'm usually the critical-thinking, responsible one and that was not one of my more cogent string of days. This was the kind of possible consequences at stake when the drinking age for 3.2 beer was 18 and standardized testing was afoot.

Sad, my kid is a homebody and has probably never had a beer. ACT score-26. He had no idea that it was timed and has zero sense of urgency. I sat there and prayed to just get it over with because I felt so bad. Same score, haha lol.

I never took the ACT.

I got in the mid 12's on the SAT. Not great, but I got into the schools I wanted.

The quality of education, and difficulty of each class, varies between each school, and varies even more between each state. A 3.5 GPA student in X state can easily be dumber than a 3.5 GPA student in Y state. My wife is a product of the NC public school system, and has told me that the difficulty level was laughably low, but this is subjective.

People that are "bad test takers" are just making excuses for not knowing the given material. You either know the answer, or you don't, doesn't matter where you're actually being asked the question.

If you can't handle sitting in a chair and answering questions for a few hours at the super duper early time of 8 am, then maybe college isn't for you

I think the "bad test taking" type comes from the stress involved with tests such as timing, importance, shiit like that hence factors that can be used on some tests such as separate setting and additional time. I never was one of those bad test takers, like I said they never stressed me out or anything. To me a standardized test is like a roulette game, you apply yourself and do shiit, you apply yourself and do well, you don't and you do shiit, or you don't and you do well just by the luck of the draw.
You can't look the same as someone else, but you can be the best of yourself.

Took the SAT in either 7th or 8th grade. Don't recall what I got. At all. Have paperwork on it somewhere. Wound up taking the ACT when I was a junior or so...got a 29 which got me what I wanted.

These days they are having kids do test prep to get ready for the exams so they can artificially increase their scores. IDK about you guys, but that stuff didn't exist when I was a kid. At least not to my knowledge.

These days they are having kids do test prep to get ready for the exams so they can artificially increase their scores. IDK about you guys, but that stuff didn't exist when I was a kid. At least not to my knowledge.
Yeah my school attempted something like that. It ended up being 3 questions on different subjects each day. Monday 3 questions on math, Tuesday 3 on English, etc. until the week was up. next Monday was the test.
