More facilities, money, good lifestyle which attracts people from all over the world. Also power and influence which allows athletes to be on det dere with no repercussions. Olympics is all about politics/state power so no surprise that the most influential country is at the top.

Large population, rich country, PEDs, a culture that values sports and solid sports organizations. Still, if you look at medals per capita, several countries are far better than the US.

it's mostly the college sports i think, everybody in europe and 1st world country have acces to facilities and cellular technologies. and also it seems like the US are the only one ,along with russia and china, who care about winning those things and put a ****load of money in it, just like britain at the london olympics, they invested a lot to not look like fools at home and they pretty good, but for these ones they probably don't have nearly the same budget whereas china ,russia and the us keep spending a lot because it somehow mean something to them to win, their the 1st country and sports need to reflect that, that why china also try hard to win

Time for a little science here.

Our forefathers were the most adventurous, alpha and industrious top percent from each European country that migrated to the New World. Throw that in with the diverse genetic pool, African ancestry etc. Of course we dominate the world in sport, economics, military. High budget and black genetics. Not to be racist but yes China and India have large populations, but they also have terrible athletic genes. Also the slave reasoning for why blacks have good genes is stupid, all races worked hard as fuk in fields. You can still see them working hard in Asia today.

The amount of money put into sport in america is huge compared with europe, athletes are actively recruited for colleges and much college sport has an amazing standing (ie. people actually care about it). Sport over here is all done on a shoe string bar the very top elite in select sports like rowing and cycling.
