Yea sorry more geared towards the other brah trying to call me out. Love the food too. Naive is a good word. I just wish places like that stayed in tune with a lot of their customs and their culture as opposed to becoming more and more "westernized" so to speak.

I want to spend a summer in Sweden at some point, and hopefully I can in some years when I have my own business. My grandmas pictures are all so beautiful, the scenery, the land, etc. just a beautiful country. I just feel like a lot of them are into their culture that much, from what I hear at least from my family.

The problem is that Sweden wants to be like USA so bad that they would do anything to turn this country into the same melting pot like you have with multiculturalism.
Sweden should just be Sweden. The welfare system is also very inviting, I think they had a best seller in Lithuania or some Baltic country a while ago on how to take advantage of the Swedish welfare as an immigrant.

This makes sense, of course you can honour your swedish ancestors, but there's a difference between that and actually BEING swedish. It's like those BLM cucks who say that they are african even though they've never been and no one in their family has been there for 5 generations.

seriously, you should be proud. I am very glad there are people in other countries partaking in our culture, even if it's pretty silly sometimes, it's still culture. Something the SJW's like to say that sweden doesn't have. Sure, you may not speak alot of swedish, but you could learn that easily. Don't listen to those who say you shouldn't say you can be proud. If those "italian" americans can say they are italian when they don't speak an ounce of Italian, why can't you say you are swedish/american. Or atleast of swedish heritage

It's funny because in reality Sweden might produce the most Chads(percentage wise) than any other nations. They are just not loud, start fights for no ****ing reason like a lot of the British Chavs, East Euros, and ethnics do, but apparantly that is "cuck". lol.

The countries policies are the most liberal, and terrible of all the countries, but the average Swedish guy is better looking, taller, and more masculine than the average American for sure.

Went over to her house last week to have breakfast with her and my grandpa, she made swedish pancakes, lingonberry jam, and this stuff they drink once and a while called "fil." very odd thick drink. Almost like yogurt. Not bad with the lingonberry in it, just odd texture

And ofcourse coffee. My grandpa was saying everyone in the family would drink coffee all day. all swedes did. Said he would have 4-5 cups a day as a kid lmao
I think it comes down to what you personally identify as. If you enjoy the culture and identify with Swedish culture and have some roots, sure you can call yourself Swedish or part Swedish. There are lots of people who live in Sweden and speak the language to some extent but that would never identify as swedes because they don't like the culture here. That's a 1000x bigger problem, don't see why anyone would be opposed to people actually adopting the culture when it's such a rare thing these days.

And about washing down the culture, yeah, some things are going away but I think it's generally stuff that people don't enjoy. We don't often dance around the midsummer pole anymore (actually I did last year), but people still enjoy decorating it, putting it up and all the partying that goes with it. We also have a bunch of other fun traditions like krftskiva (crayfish parties), walpurgis night etc. It's also a way of life and closely tied with manners and behavior imo.

That's awesome that your grandmas a chef. Swedish food can be pretty bland and boring, very little variation in spices etc, so a lot of people get fed up with it if they eat it every day. But we have some really nice food that's great to eat once in a while.

Filmjlk is actually milk that's gone sour with added special bacterial cultures which gives it the particular consistency and taste. It's good with cinnamon and jam.

Yeah coffee and fika is about as Swedish as it gets. My parents will sit on the couch drinking coffee til 10-11 PM, and then go to bed right after and always complain that they can't sleep. One day I told them 'well maybe you shouldn't drink a fuking pot of coffee right before you go to bed' and the thought hadn't even occurred to them LOL

I laughed too.

And anyway, a good number of European countries allow anyone with a grandparent who is/was a citizen to claim citizenship. It's a much closer link. I am not sure if Sweden does as well but that, I think, creates a little distinction between the baldmiscerswedishdude and some random American claiming to be Swedish because his great great great grandparents were Swedes.

And as for the OP, I wouldn't call Swedes beta. They are just less confrontational which is probably why to the Americans/Australians and other more aggressive, stand-out-from-the-crowd cultures, they would come off as beta.

I know a swedish bodybuilder who lives here in Norway because bodybuilding is more common here and in Sweden guys look down on bodybuilding. You guys even have random piss tests of guys just because they look big...

In Sweden you are considered a racist if you dont support mass immigration. How is that not beta?? In Norway we had 1600 refugees in 2016, how many have you had? 100k? Lol

The thing I dont like about Sweden is that it makes Scandinavia as a whole look soft. Norway and Denmark have some of the strictest immigration laws in Europe while you are the biggest cucks
