Seriously looks like they havent groomed their hair for years. Chit looks absolutely horrid. Especially cause white people hair doesnt curl the way black hair naturally curls, so the results are vastly different.







I had dreads years ago but had to cut em off when my best bud passed on (in commemoration of him). I liked them but dont miss them at all...those things were high maintenance...kind of like a high class snobbish bishy gf. Especially cause I always liked mine thin, clean and neat flowing, but to keep em like that, I always had them retouched every two weeks (over 3 years). Major pain in the ass...

i just cant imagine putting so much work and thought into my hair

tried growing it out a while ago, it got to my nose and that was already annoying as fukk

dreads seem like they would be a huge pain in the ass

I'm black and I have dreadlocks. You're response; disgusts me. Dreadlocks of all sizes and shapes are beautiful; Anyone can have dreadlocks. If you don't comb your hair, continue washing with a non-residue shampoo, the hair will knot, spiral, and tangle into dreads; what we call freeform. Its natural.

I'm pretty sure if someone said us Black people can't use straigthners/perm on our hair then you'd probably lose your ****. GTFO with your double standards.

Yeah I guess I'm a little harsh, I actually considered it myself once when I was a young impressionable metalhead. Decided against it for practical reasons ultimately, which I don't regret.

Most 'normal' people care at least a little about how they are perceived, so usually it's just the oddballs and freaks that go for it which I think is why they are judged so harshly. It's like, if you don't care people think you're a disgusting hippie then you probably are one. It's a bit chitty but it's how the world works.

The trick OP is to not tell people in the workplace plans like that, srs. I free grew my hair to my chin in an office environment, kept it quiet and slicked back until it was long and no one said chit. Then a co-worker wanted to grow his out and told everyone, instantly had a manager riding his azz about cutting it.

Here's current pictures of my hair it's about 4.5 inches long. As you can see it's very frizzy, wavy, and curly. I think it's perfectly suitable for dreads.
