And the problem with smoke (meth/tobacco/weed/doesn't matter) is that it's dehydrating, as is alcohol and coffee - dehydration also contributions to degradation of looks because the body needs water to keep cells working properly and move toxins through the body

Most of these people never watched their weight to begin with and just carried the same diet habits they had in their early 20s into their early 30s. The change was their metabolism. Most people are just too stupid or lazy to realize that they need to change their diet as they get older, especially if they don't exercise.

Doesn't surprise me at all.
Once people reach their 'goals' or reach a massive milestone in their lives (such as getting married, graduating, getting a new job, buying a house, having a kid, etc. etc.), they tend to feel 'comfortable' and lose drive and motivation.
It's actually quite common and theMAJORITYof people do this, it's just human nature. The one's who truly excel are the ones who realize this and don't let it happen because it will spread like a ****ing disease into every aspect of their lives.
It isn't about beinglazy, per se, it's about beingcomfortable.

30s is when you start see the difference in how people age, and who is taking care of themselves and who isn't.
Weight really ages people.
The worst is being newly single in your 30s and getting that wake up shock that your dating pool is no longer like it was in your 20s or college.
Now all the good looking women are married or divorced with kids already, and most of the single women left are fat.
I remember going through that and finding it very depressing.

Ironically I randomly saw a pic of my ex HS gf and her group of friends (deleted FB long ago, plus NC). They're all still hot and as slim back in HS. My mind was blown. Age 27yo....may have to attend my HS reunion and catch up afterall lol.
