Some good points raised in the thread, albeit with some stereotypes and remarks from people who haven't been on both sides of the coin.

I think Asia offers a higher career upside for most Asians. One that's Western educated but can speak the language and understand the local cultures can do really well back home. Much of business, law, politics, entertainment is still an old white boys club, so purely from a networking perspective it's harder to be successful but not impossible. If you manage to work in a role that links Asia and the West, that may prove to be lucrative as well.

Personally speaking, I have been in Canada for a long time now so I'm very accustomed to the North American culture and want to remain here. Just not 100% comfortable with the Asian business culture back home. But if an attractive role in Asia comes up I won't turn it down, then again I'm not actively looking so it's not very likely anyhow.

People keep mentioning air quality as a dig on Asia. But when America especially LA and NY and Europe were developing a lot of their cities were plagued by poor quality of air. Sure, mainly China suffers from this, but it isnt like they ARENT doing anything about it. They will probably have this issue fixed easily by 2020.

Definitely I am not Asian but what I see in Asia is a quickly rising force, and it doesn’t stop at East Asia, even countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and even Indonesia are making moves and finding their position in this rapidly changing world. I’m not all Asians should return but the opportunities for educated Western born Asian seems endless.

but asia is developing at a fast pace as compared to western world which is seeing growing income gaps and over-regulation leading to stifling of middle class and entrepreneurship

but in america, lot of legal immigrants see a better environment to raise family at the cost of starting from scratch and leaving their life behind.

Main reason for not moving to Japan was because asian women are ugly. I hate small tits and tiny hips.
