Maybe they just like how the cars look inside/out and how they drive? Maybe they appreciate the build quality?
I'd rather drive an entry level used 3 series than a new Camry and I don't care about social status.

People want a commuter that has some luxury and quality feel of a more expensive BMW/Mercedes but doesn't break the bank. I know some people who have weekend cars or cars for special occasions but then daily drive 3-series or a C-class to be in some luxury but not be driving a 100+ thousand dollar investment everyday. Other's purchase it because they like the size/drive of the smaller caller. The 3-series drives better IMO than the 5-series or even the 7-series. Unless you really need the extra room you won't be compromising too much in a 3-series. Lastly, it could be a demographic that wants to pose or drive a luxury car with the associated brand name but doesn't have the money for the higher tier models. I think most people are in that last category. I think now though, a nicely spec'd C-class or a 3-series can easily tap 50 grand. If you get an A-class merc though or a CLA you are a rich person purchasing for their kids or you are some chick who wants to pose around. I'd rather get a loaded economy car than an A-class or a really low tier poverty merc. The badge isn't worth it for that. The new C-class/3 series etc are actually really nice cars. Nothing "poverty" or "cheap" about them and you rarely see many low spec models of those. Most start in 40s and go into the 50s. C-class AMGs can approach a 100 grand loaded. M3s can easily go over 70 grand. The auto dealers get you with options etc etc.

For those unaware. The car you drive matters to sloots, so if you are going to the bar every night tryin to smash then yes your car matters somewhat. It won't matter at all to the good girls. I'd rank cars like this as far as how much they help. Remember this is how they rank to women, not to men.
Exotics, specifically Lambo and Ferrari. Most sloots won't recognize a Mclaren, or even an Aston Martin sometimes. Lamborghini and Ferrari are household names though.
High end Mercedes, BMW, Bentley, and rolls royce all fall in together despite the obvious price difference here. Porsche in here too
Mid level Merc and BMW. This includes all AMG that aren't S class as well as M series cars. I also could see a Cadillac Escalade falling in this category, but thats it from caddy.
New or classisc American Sports cars. Camaro, Mustang, Challenger etc.. Viper. Corvettes are nice too but still have that midlife crisis stigma about them.
I would rank nice Trucks, low level euro luxury and all other luxury vehicles right at the same level.
Anything else isn't doing you any favors. Yes that includes all japanese sports cars, any other sedan. Any rally car, such as the evo, wrx, or focus rs. There are some great cars here but women won't give a crap about them, these are solely for you.

true.
if ur average looks, your car can tip the favors in your end. Raise your value. If you're hot and/or fun personality, huge social circle, etc - the car won9't matter much.
when i had a fancy sports car, it raised my average looks and smashed hbb's. When I got a old truck later on, it lowered it and same hbb's went nc after being picked up on it. So I had to learn the hard way. At least it showed me who the golddiggers are, but sadly, most women are golddiggers so that means years of hitting on chicks/dating.

Listen up boyos
People buy entry level Mercedes, Audi and BMW because of marketing and long term client acquisition strategies put in place by those companies.
Making cars like the Audi a1, the Mercedes cla, the BMW x1 has allowed them to attract and lure a younger, up and coming client base to step into the mercedes/audi/bmw family. And once they grow older and now have a taste of the car (even being entry level) they will always lust for the more expensive models. So as time goes on and they develop their careers, cla will get traded for a c class, the c class will get upgraded for an e class and so forth.
Thats how the companies think, and thats why they make these cars now. On the other hand, some people will never really have money so they buy an audi a1 because they think they are floss.

2015 MB GLA250 checking in.
It's my first car, and got a surprising good deal on it since the 2016 were about to roll out. Already thinking about a trade-in to a C Class or GLE GLC hnnngggg. But at that price point I could get a Macan.

ITT, OP thinks a 1-series, 3-series, or a C-Class is "entry level". Fuking LMAO.
You do realize the 135i/335i can put out as much power as an M3, correct? And who was steering feel? Drive a Toyota Camry, and then drive a 3-Series. If you can't tell the difference, you probably shouldn't be posting about this chit.
Not to mention the W205 C-Class is essentially a mini S-Class. Have you even seen one? Not everyone wants to drive a yacht on wheels.

Has nothing to do with the fact that a 1 series bmw is nicer than a honda civic.

I think OP wanna know why people buy mercedes, bmw etc, when they cant afford the cars they are known for (such as the s class, or the m5 for example)

Any girl is going to be able to tell a p1 or zonda r is in a different league to a 355 or 10 year old gallardo.
Beamers and mercs are not in the same category as a half decent Bentley you complete cretin. And no one is mirin a boxster, ever, or even most non turbo 911's.
No girl knows or cares what an escalade is. The only message that sends is that you have 7 kids and can't afford an x6.
Some American sports cars would get a second look here but only for rarity value. I may well get one at some point myself, but it won't be to impress the ladies.
You are right about ricers which just about saves your post from an epic complete fail.
