My doctor personally isn't a fan of power lifting because of the amount of blood that's forced out of the heart during these lifts but he does mention that warming up properly will allow someone with a healthy heart to not tax their heart terribly when attempting these kinds of lifts.I'm more afraid of a heart attack than anything!
I imagine the best way to warm up for rep maxing on this would be probably around 4-6 sets (of 10 or so reps) gradually increasing the weight.
